Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Why even go to a theme park if you don’t care about the rides having a theme?

The average guest it not like the rest of us. Yes the theme and story is what makes Disney parks special, and has cemented their legacy. But soooo many visitors never truly notice those details. They just go because it’s Disney, and has a long, well regarded history.

While I think those details, the theming, story, do matter, regardless if the average guest notices. But we also need to recognize we are now in a time where many will just look for something that is pretty, seems high tech or fancy, or trendy, and could care less about the story, as long as they can get the perfect instagram or TikTok post out of it.

Before being a Disney fan I always thought Splash Mountain to be a water ride with singing animals (couldn’t get out any story from it, had to actually be told the story online to understand it). And really, the same goes for TBA.
But the animals don’t sing in TBA. They don’t even really move honestly. But they can, in fact, play.

Sounds pretty niche to me. Nintendo is a huge miss for me as the area feels like a lesser Toontown and the one ride is so disappointing.

I don’t think it’s a HUGE miss. I think it’s a tad overrated but I do agree the Mario Kart is very disappointing.

To have another land themed to generic cartoon world with another AR-based attraction looking at cartoon characters seems like a very dumb move. Almost as bad as another Fast and Furious-themed attraction. Nobody wants to step into the world of F & F. It's just warehouses and urban decay.

I agree the aesthetic would be a little redundant which really would be a sin at a small park like USH with so few (realistic) opportunities to expand. With that said, Simpsons is already a cartoony land so it would be more of a lateral move in that sense.

I'd much prefer a version of the Universal Monsters land we are seeing at Epic. Or NYC with Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtle.

This would be so much better than Pokémon.

They definitely need something besides Harry Potter to draw me in and Pokemon is just doubling down on what we already have with Mario. I don't want more of the same,.

I agree although I don’t think it could be worse than Simpsons. And I say this as someone who has way more appreciation for the Simpsons than I do Pokémon.

Why is all of this in the Tiana thread?

Because Tiana is still a mediocre hatchet job with AA's that have been broken for months. Nothing has changed. Sadly.
That has nothing to do with this
