News New DAS System at Walt Disney World 2024

She perhaps decided it wasn't worth the time/energy/effort to do so? She didn't seem very upset that she didn't ride Tron. It just came across as "eh, I tried this, it didn't work oh well"

If she's someone who is able to go frequently maybe she just figured she'd try again next time. Does someone have to be willing to escalate to make their account true or valuable?
She was very vocal in interviews and on social media saying how unfair the changes were. So if she was so publicly adamant that the changes aren't right and the old way of " everyone who asks can get DAS" should return, why give up so easily and why not show that CM interaction in her video? From what I've seen, I just don't find her to be trustworthy, so it is awfully suspicious that she chose not to show what happened at the one ride where she claims she was denied an accommodation when that footage would go a long way towards showing what the actual issue was at that ride (or if there even was an issue at all) - and evidence of an uninformed or unhelpful CM would certainly bolster her case that the changes are insufficient like she was claiming back when they were unveiled.

She doesn't actually say she didn't get an LL. She says they acted like they didn't know what she was saying. How she phrased her question we don't know but we can't assume she requested a LL considering she didn't ask for a LL when she approached SDMT. To me the video seems like the CMs didn't understand what she meant in asking for an alternative accommodation. To me it seemed like they were confused about the AQR request. The video doesn't indicated she asked or demanded a LL for tron. There have been LOTS of reports of CMs having inconsistent knowledge of AQR, so I'm not going to assume anything about LL that wasn't said.
That’s not how I understood her Tron interaction. I’m just confused why she didn’t ask at Tron if she could wait outside the queue and meet up with her friends. She knows the options, why didn’t she do that instead of just saying “guess I don’t get to ride Tron”? I kind of doubt the CM at Tron just said there were no options at all if she explained she had a disability and couldn’t wait in the queue. I also find it shady she records the first interaction, yet not the 2nd one.

I’m open to the idea that her portrayal was skewed, but also think there could be lots of other explanations. The first one that comes to mind is, vloggers are skating on thin ice from the get-go because technically Disney could say they’re in violation of park rules. I’m guessing vloggers think twice before posting something online where a CM is portrayed negatively. Or, maybe she just felt bad and didn’t want the CM to be shown negatively (I am overwhelmed by Disney Fan guilt if I’m ever short with a CM, pixie duster that I am.) Or maybe she lost her temper and doesn’t want that shown, or the CM specifically asked her to turn off the camera, or the audio was too muffled, etc.

No dog in this particular fight, but just as a point of interest, I could see a number of reasons. My money is mostly on her having to really watch it as a vlogger. Don’t bite the mouse that feeds you!

Im still trying to figure out how the CM at 7d’s no less allowed her to ride asap with other guests. Something just doesnt add up…. Like literally the RTQ line is to do just that if there are others there…

Maybe just being nice? Could have been a pixie dust moment, just hope others don’t expect it.

Randomly allowing 4 people to literally skip the line for no reason at all other than she asked… hmmm i dont think ive ever heard anyone being granted that wish
My understanding is the CMs basically have 3 options based on ride operations, length of line, and length of LL.

1) rest of party waits in line, she would meet them at the LL merge (most common)
2) Basically a 1 time use DAS pass (come back after X minutes and use LL) (Pretty rare)
3) Go ahead into the LL now (Very rare)

It is up to the CM, but I believe they are tracked on how often they use 2 and 3.

The woman didn't ask for a LL for SDMT. You're welcome to disagree with what the CM did, but the CM clearly decided to just offer LL return time. Why? Who knows. It's literally what pixie dust is.

We’ve been handed a stack of FPs before for no reason other than the CM wanted to (we had been small talking about a sports team one of us was wearing). We’ve been let into the LL when a CM overheard us talking about a time crunch so we had to make a choice between going in the standby line or moving on. We’ve had them move LLs to entirely different days because of needing to leave for reasons that are completely not Disneys problem.

They 100% can and will do things against policy when they feel like it and if you’re nice. And that’s just queue related things we’ve experienced.

It’s policy to allow “pixie dust” or good will to happen. Merchandise can even give away items up to a certain amount (or they used to.)

You want people with compassion in customer service positions.
Yup. One year at DLR, my husband broke a glass at Carthay Circle - all over the table, shards flying right at our then-toddler daughter. I got cut getting glass away from her. Staff were super fast to help us, and they surprised us with a merchandise voucher for a small plush for DD just because it scared her.

We took her on Haunted Mansion Holiday for the first time that year, and she giggled in the stretch room when Jack did his jump scare on the ceiling, so we used that to get her a small plush of Zero. We still have that plush and it gets a lot of love ❤️

Okay let me rephrase as people have said they have been “pixie dusted” 100%. Myself included i can give everyone countless stories as im sure plenty others can. All im saying in this hotly debated topic regarding DAS/RTQ and not having DAS but a RTQ being allowed on 7Ds during the day where im guessing the line was long? To me just seems odd and beyond a pixie dust moment.

I honestly don’t think it seems that odd. We’ve had non influencer reports of similar with front line CMs directing them straight in the LL at their discretion.

I find that part of her report more believable than her account of seemingly being unable to find a CM at Tron who understood how to help guests who can’t wait in a queue, to be honest.
