I think the steps you describe to maximize guest spending in the parks, will happen, and WILL WORK for Disney. To be clear, I personally don't like it, but I think it will work.

I am interested what the impact of EPIC will be. I think the MK will retain the title of most visited in 2025. My heart feels MK will retain the title in 2026 too but lets see what happens.
MK’s only competitor is Disneyland. USJ is close but doesn’t have the capacity. The only true threat in the long-term imo is Shanghai DL.

It is hilarious to have the Hollywood Reporter (In the tank for Disney) sample analyst's price targets when they've been and continue to be so incredibly wrong.

You can look it up and find that over the past 3-4 years, on the low side they were off by 30% or more on average, and on the high side by around 50%.

Absolutely insane.

What??? Universal Japan is a closer competitor than DisneyTokyo or Disneyland Paris? Or did I read that wrong.
USJ is beating TDL attendance-wise in recent years to become the #3 park in the world, sparked by their aggressive IP integrations as well as TDR’s elimination of annual passes. But the park is bursting at the seams.

Paris will probably never come close to the America or Japan numbers.

Ah!! Compete for top visited park - I missed the context and now I see it.

I think the problem isn’t so much the price of tickets as it is the amount of up charges within the bubble
For normies the price of entry is a major barrier, because there are many more accessible and frankly better options than spending thousands for a week in the swamp.

For the Disney people who visit at least once a year, the up charges are the point of contention, because these people know the lesser experience you get when you don’t pay more.

A week in the swamp! That’s all it is to you? Are you sure you’re a Disney fan?
