What could these be for? I was under the motion that Disney had no plans to put another theater production in the Hyperion and the building would be leveled for either Avatar or Avengers Campus expansion.

It could just be electrical to install (3) cart charger stanchions on or near the exterior of that building, to charge the carts they use for tooling around back-stage, having little or nothing to do with theatrical production.

I have always believed that (R1) would be better served as additional (B) IF combined with (A2)! However, (A2) as it is today needs a redesign as it was…. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!

Crazy theory guys... Hear me out

Permit 1: General maintenance & back-of-house work on boulder scene (as many have said already)
Permit 2 & 3: Finally finishing the vision of the "Gates of Doom" scene:
- Permit 2 = fixing the gate door (allowing Indy to close it again)
- Permit 3 = installing the intended fog & mist that's supposed to appear below and on the track.

The original intention of that scene is that you're "floating towards the gates of doom" then Indy shuts the door and you fall onto the ground, now able to drive. Indy shutting the door USED to work, but hasn't for awhile. I'm not sure if there was ever mist/fog in the beginning that was intended. I don't see why "new fog & mist" would apply to the temple room/lava pit because that HAS been working. I feel like the wording would've been "replace" if it was for that scene.

The moment I saw the second permit it screamed out animatronic/motion work. Then the third permit came in... I could totally be wrong but this is what I'm hoping it is.

Did Indy actually physically close the door? Everything I've read has said the effect was just turning off the light behind to make it appear that the door was shut.

Regardless, the fog permit makes it clear that some major work is going to be done in the upcoming refurb.

Honestly this might be true, I couldn't verify it. Nonetheless, I think my theory could still apply because they physically altered the Indy figure's position & location at some point (not sure when) since the door closing effect doesn't occur anymore. So the permit still may be related to relocating the figure or something?
