No. We'll see what they are going to do. One option as @ToTBellHop puts it is to trash the whole thing. Another option is moving it to somewhere else in HS. A third option is another park not in WDW. Who knows? We'll see.

DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Listen dude, I know you have hope but i dunno. I know Disney and Jim Henson company have talked about preservation in their PR Statments, and the Disney Dish Guys said the other day they’ve heard stuff about conversations about moving muppetvision, but i dunno man. It looks to be pretty over. It is kidna cowardly to not say the full fate of MV3D tho. Just bite the bullet and say it already.

Then that gets back to finality, doesn't it? Just say it's being "preserved for the archives" or moved to Disney+ or whatever and not returning as a show. Why leave us hanging? That's all I'm saying.

While all of that is true, they don't seem to understand that not every attraction needs to have long waits. Parks needs to walk on attractions too.
Me too. That’s all I want. They were quick about roa, the fact that this has been drawn out even now is damning in my eyes that there are a lot of internal disagreements about muppetvision closing.

The issue is comments from Disney and Jim Henson Company about the "future iteration" or whatever. That strings us along but doesn't close the loop. Close it already.

I get that. But it works both ways. There's that same type of group who when someone questions Disney, they shout it down. Personally I'm not sure how anyone could question someone thinking it might not happen. The track record is clearly on the side of things not happening. As I've said, I think most don't want to be inherently negative.

I just think that we’re eyeballing the wrong part of the announcements for what “may not happen.”
Muppets in RNRC feels more “Play pavilion” to me than the show. I don’t think they would announce that MuppetVision is closing unless they knew what was going in there. Especially with how much they have bend over backwards to avoid the backlash from closing it. I feel like, if they didn’t already have a replacement for MuppetVision, they wouldn’t have announced it’s closing.

I don’t disagree. It would be better if people just let the comments go and moved on to the real discussion but that rarely happens. This Is a discussion forum for Monsters Land coming to DHS so if everyone just agreed it might not happen so nothing to talk about the thread would be 1 or 2 pages long. It would also be counterproductive for anyone discussing the land to start every post with “I know this stuff might not happen” before discussing stuff. To me that's always implied.
Yes. I’m sick of the stringing along. COMMIT TO IT. Stand behind it. If you’re gonna throw it on Disney+ throw it on Disney plus. Don’t spend time mulling about conversating about moving theatres if you aren’t serious about it. You already know it’s what people want. If you can’t fufill that want, don’t give people the slightest expectation that it can be fulfilled. I swear the most evil thing they can do is decide it is moving but wait until destination d23 for the crowd PR to announce it.

I think if they knew where it was going they would have announced it.
The easiest and probably cheapest option is to move it to imagination pavilion in EPCOT. They could move in the film itself, some of the props from the waiting area and maybe even the 2 old guys. The cannon at the end and some of the physical effects may get cut but it would be most of the show.

My only question then would be why do we know absolutely nothing about it? Not even the kind of show that they are planning. And that feels to me, like this was a very last second decision to try and soften the blow of MV closure. I don't think the closure of muppet vision had anything to do with a monsters show. They wanted monsters in the Muppet spot because it will be easier for them. Show or no monsters show they were 86ing the muppets in my opinion.

Except you have lots of posts full of, “I’d be really upset about MV3D leaving, but Disney promised a new show and Muppets in RnRC and to ‘preserve’ Muppets, so it’s OK and people getting upset are silly.” Disney’s strategy here is pretty clear.
If folks want to discuss what’s actually happening - MV3D is being removed and a door coaster expansion is being built nearby - great. But until we have significantly more reason to believe that any of the other things are occurring, factoring them in distorts the picture. Ignoring Disney’s behavior over the last two decades doesn’t produce meaningful discussion.

That’s fair. If you want to take it a step further we still don’t know they will actually build a Doors coaster or close MV3D. Anything announced can change so the only way to avoid uncertainty is to wait until it’s all done to discuss. As I said before, I think we can have a discussion about what might happen without continuously clarifying that we know it is not certain to occur.
I am not at all happy to see MV3D leaving. The original concept art from muppet courtyard seemed to show the theater gone and that space used by part of the courtyard and door coaster. This new art shows the theater in place and the coaster back further in a backstage area. Disney also announced a new monsters show coming. So Its not unreasonable for people to consider that at least a better option. We lose MV3D. I can’t even imagine how a new monsters show could possibly exceed that show, but at least a new show keeps the capacity (added capacity with the coaster), especially for people with kids or issues with motion sickness. I reserve the right to come back later and criticize the quality of the new show or trash Disney completely if no show happens. I see no value in preemptively trashing them for cancelling a planned show that hasn’t been cancelled yet. It’s not a productive conversation.
As far as Muppets at RNRC, why not do it? It’s become clear that Aerosmith needed to go and it seems like an easy and more importantly cheap option to keep Muppets in the park. I will be the first to admit that adding something Muppets next to RNRC is more wishful thinking than reality but it could still happen.

And I am someone who loves Muppet*Vision with my whole heart and do it multiple times on every trip to WDW. But I can love something and still understand that it's way past it's time and doesn't relate to generations under me for the most part.

In my eyes that tells me everything. It feels like a PR move to say we're looking at options to soften the blow. They've had how many months at this point to figure it out? I'd love to be wrong on this but I don't see them doing anything but maybe preserving it on disney+. Or a limited edition Blu-ray for the low price of 199.99. And it will come with a statue of Kermit sitting on the end of the firetruck ladder.
If they're going to spend a bunch of money to relocate or anything like that. They would just leave it and go with animation courtyard for monsters.

Ok so success is just raising capacity in that area? Or attendance too? But isn't correlated to overall gate clicks. Just curious how you were defining that. I would tend to agree it will be more busy (at least in the short term) on that side of the park, but I personally don't think it will increase the overall park attendance by much. We shall see.

I really doubt they will spend money to construct a new theater to hold the film. The best hope of it landing somewhere in the parks would be replacing an existing 3D movie. - Philharmagic at MK. I see close to zero percent chance this happens.
- Tree of Life at AK. They just announced Zootopia to Tree of Life replacing Bugs. Since Zootopia really doesn’t fit well there anyway MV3D wouldn’t be any more out of place, but it would require some changes to the theater too. I see that as highly unlikely as well.
- Mickey Shorts theater featuring Vacation Fun (former Sounds Dangerous). I think the movie could be moved here but not sure about all of the physical set pieces. It would also mean Muppets in 2 separate areas of the park.
- Magic Eye Theater in Imagination pavilion. Muppets would replace the Pixar shorts which are not overly popular there anyway. The theater has a history of swapping out 3D shows. Would people be upset if they moved the movie without some of the physical effects. I think it could ruin the story.
