After watching like a hawk I finally got an earlier time. Kind of ridiculous this ride is still VQ or LL at this point. Wonder if it will go under refurb or they will skip it until 2026.

The refurb it needs won't happen.

From my 2 rides in September - It's decent, at best. Mish mash of ideas that don't work together. Very thin story. Too many gaps in the main show.

It confirms what I said from the beginning - This should be its own ride building and area.

It’s conflicting for me, I got group 11 VQ and ended up changing my LL. I really dislike the use of screens, and also the animatronic at the end was broken. The finale is cool but the usage of screens again takes away from it to me. Some of the redo is nice, but using projections for fireflies doesn’t work. While I think using lights for fireflies is fine.

I could see why Disneyland is superior because I feel like there’s just not much going on at times. The critters are all well done I guess.

I think really it just doesn’t feel like it was made as a New Orleans sort of flume. It’s obvious it’s just a fresh coat of paint on the old building. In a way kind of baffled they didn’t make original buildings for the queue, idk just doesn’t look right to me.

From far away it looks like funeral bunting.

Since the retheme was announced, I have said the following things...
"I'm fully convinced they're doing to trash the animatronics. They did it to the Universe of Energy and Great Movie Ride animatronics, I wouldn't put it past them."
Oh, they're definitely going to trash at least half of the animatronics.
I'm picturing plastic-y barely moving figures (a la the Little Mermaid ride) and entire spaces once occupied by an animatronic featuring nothing (as in, not even a screen).
Here's what I'm expecting the retheme to be like:

- Most of the America Sings animatronics are removed. Replacing them are... nothing! Just long stretches of no animatronics whatsoever. Mainly just empty scenery. There's the occasional screen here and there.
- There are SOME new animatronics, but the ones that aren't main characters (Tiana, Naveen, Louis, etc.) are primitive plastic-y ones that barely move a la most of the animatronics in the Little Mermaid ride.
- Brer Rabbit on the handcar isn't replaced by anything.
- The "Burrow's Lament" sequence has no animatronics or scenery whatsoever.
- Since Disney doesn't do hand-drawn animation anymore, all of the animation on the screens is outsourced and looks like crap.
- The scene of Brer Fox being attacked by Brer Gator is replaced by nothing.
- The retheme as a whole is cheaply-done and a massive downgrade...
- Disney World's retheme is even worse, with even LESS animatronics, even MORE long stretches of just empty scenery, and it being obvious that the retheme was designed with the Disneyland version in mind.
We're probably going to wind up with a bizarre fusion of the Little Mermaid ride and Frozen Ever After with a bit of Demented Hobo Goofy's Runaway Railway That Isn't So Much Running Away As It Is Slowly Crawling Away thrown in.
I'm guessing they'll be some little swamp critters (like the ones that were at the wedding) even if most of the animatronics already in the ride get trashed. They probably won't be very impressive, though... like, on par with the fish in the "Under the Sea" sequence of the Little Mermaid ride. Hard plastic figures with limited movement.
I'm guessing most of the animatronics will be replaced with less complex, plasticky-looking ones that barely actually move. Y'know all the sea creatures in the "Under the Sea" sequence of the Little Mermaid ride? Like those.
I'm expecting Tiana, Naveen, Louis, and Mama Odie to get fancy good-looking animatronics, but the "background" critters will be more plastic-looking figures that barely move (a la the sea creatures in the "Under the Sea" sequence of the Little Mermaid ride) as opposed to reused Splash Mountain animatronics, like @EricsBiscuit said.

If nothing else, if they're really going to turn the lift hill into Mama Odie's house, I think it's pretty safe to say the vultures aren't going to be reused. They'd be pretty out of place in Mama Odie's house.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if those frogs turned out to just be statues, too. I could see them thinking "They're small, nobody's going to notice if they don't move!".
I'd just like to take this moment to say "I told you so." Although some of these were in regards to the original storyline this was gonna have about Louis chasing his trumpet.
