He got his Oscar, he accomplished what he wanted to do. So yeah why not come back to the franchise that made him really popular again. Look for at least a cameo in Secret Wars. However we're still waiting for Sherlock 3, so who knows whats going to happen longer term.

I agree the 2016 Ghostbusters was bad…it’s the reasoning that some people complain that film was bad that I have issues with… at it’s core…the original Ghostbusters was a comedy before anything else…it is the direction I wish they would go in… just smarter and not so juvenile… at least the 2016 version tried to be a comedy… it just unfortunately was not funny… but they did try to follow the template of the original just with SNL females instead of SNL males

It was a big deal for a lot of people that it was all female, that's for sure. But for a lot of those people who were upset with it. It wasn't as much about females as it was about the original people were trying to make a 3rd film for years. They could have used the original cast that they had left. Then add in 2 new female Ghostbusters, it wouldn't have been a big deal. It was also billed as continuation in early promo. They tried to sell it as something it wasn't. I agree that they tried to make it a comedy, same as the original. But if you're going to abandon such a beloved original, you absolutely need to make sure it's top quality. 2016 felt more like a spoof movie rather than a legitimate Ghostbusters film.

Finalized Box Office is out for The First Omen in its debut weekend globally.

US ticket sales were revised down slightly to $8,353,710.

It made $9.1 Million overseas, with a few countries already reporting exact debut weekend tallies; Australia got $194,058 in box office, United Kingdom got $658,152 this weekend. It has yet to open in France and the BeNeLux group, but is open everywhere else already. I wonder what the Italians think of this sort of Vatican horror stuff?

We saw The First Omen over the weekend, based on the reviews alone, and we thought it was fantastic. Soooo much better than we expected. However, I have one major problem/concern/question for those who have seen it and it’s a spoiler, so…..

The movie goes right up to the start of the original Omen, so this film is taking place in that universe. However, in this movie, Damien is birthed by Margaret, and we know from the original movie that Damien was birthed by a jackal. This is a major error, unless I missed something. Can anyone shed some light on this?

So its just "assumed" the jackal body was the mother. But the jackal body was actually the father, as seen in The First Omen, that died in the fire and the mother Margaret actually escaped and disappeared.

40,100 Italians is 0.06% of the total population of 60 Million.

Not a huge market in Italy for Vatican Horror Gore, apparently. I'm not surprised, but the box office is proof of that I guess.

Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn’t Bill Murray one of the holdouts…It would be odd to have a Ghostbusters 3 with the original cast, but without Murray…I am sure the studio would have moved forward if the entire cast was interested…sometimes people need to move on

That is apparently the case. I know he had a falling out with Harold Ramis which may have been a factor.

When the original cast all cameoed in GB 2016 I did think at the time, why not do an in universe sequel if the OG cast was willing to participate?

However, it's still possible Murray didn't want to reprise the role at the time. He said he did the cameo because he didn't want people to think he was opposed to the new incarnation in some way.

I also understand why they wanted to start fresh in order to do an origin story.

I remember hearing that. I never really looked into how true or why. I find that most of the time when an actor isn't on board, it's because they just haven't hit the price tag. He obviously was willing to do it because he was in the new ones. So either it was money or a creative issue. The other two made cameos in the 2016 film. So I don't think it would have to unrealistic to have them team up and "pass the torch" to a new crew.

We loved the Sherlock Holmes series. I really hope they do a third movie.
We also liked the Iron Man series, so there's hope for that one too??

The Iron Man series, at least with RDJ in the role, is finished. If he comes back it'll most likely be in service of other movies in the MCU such as larger Avengers movies like with Secret Wars. I also would think they would do the Tony as an AI thing with the role like in the comics, similar to what they did at the end of End Game. But again that would be in service of other movies not a standalone Iron Man movie.

Thursday box office is out, previewing how things will likely shake out for the second weekend of The First Omen.

The First Omen is still in 3,375 theaters as of yesterday, but it's actual box office doesn't seem to support that level. Will it lose theaters this weekend? Will it beat the five week old Kung Fu Panda 4 this weekend? Tune in Sunday to find out!

Without getting too political.I don’t think it will ever happen here… sure there are some people on the fringes that want it too… but I don’t see our national Guard and armed forces allowing it
