And those bringing such judgement to the material are often those who claim to be blind to race.If it looks “judgmental,” that’s because of what the viewer is bringing to the material.
Luke Skywalker wasn’t “swapped.”

Oh no it wasn’t… Last Jedi critique was on the money.I said they aren’t always right, and that’s one of their biggest misses. That said, they don’t play the political games most other YouTube critics do, so they don’t need or want “ammunition.”

both Pinkett and half in the bag series nailed it
God Last Jedi was a terrible movie.
God Last Jedi was a terrible movie.
Captain Marvel made a billion too and look what just happened with the Marvels. That made a billion dollars. Even with all that criticism and downright hate directed toward it, there were no box office performance issues. Even with the complaints about Force Awakens. Even with the later complaints about Rise of Skywalker, the performance of Last Jedi doesn't seem to have been impacted at all by the movie before it, nor was Skywalker's performance impacted by the supposed weakness of Last Jedi.
All pointing to the main point: the criticism didn't have much impact on that film, so why entertain the idea that it's the primary factor NOW?
Sorry… I’m saying I agree with the audience score of 42% for Last Jedi. I don’t see how any Star Wars fan could like that film. Deserved hate towards that film. That made a billion dollars. I would not lump Red Letter Media in with the click haters…I have seen them take shots at the Anti- Disney tubers as well…they don’t play politics with all this “Culture War” nonsense….they even liked Kenobi well enoughBut to be fair they do have a points just like Red Letter Media (who also has 1.5 million subscribers) When Last Jedi was such a colossal disappointment, Red Letter Media did an exceptional job of describing why.
People are upset with Disney's recent issue with quality control. Their stories from Willow to Wish have been average to terrible.
So Disney is fueling guys like Red Letter Media with plenty of ammunition to attack them.
Add that most kids watch youtube, my kids included, and it can spell disaster for Disney.
Everyone watches these critiques.
I mean, they are fun to watch and many have solid points as you know.
Star Wars is dead… Disney killed it. It’s a TV show now.Captain Marvel made a billion too and look what just happened with the Marvels.
Release a (direct) sequel to TLJ and what do you think will/might happen?
Disney has a very big SW problem on their hands when it comes to movies. And each year that passes from the release of TLJ only magnifies that negative impact. Disney is more than likely aware of what TLJ did financially and what it did to the fan base.
Attack of the Clones is a really bad movie, and yet still light years ahead of TLJ as a film.
Rogue One and Solo were pretty darn good, especially Rogue One. It actually made people care about characters that no one knew anything about.
TLJ gave us a nonsensical string of “gotchas” for no other reason than: Rian Johnson.
Agree.. they are very goodI would not lump Red Letter Media in with the click haters…I have seen them take shots at the Anti- Disney tubers as well…they don’t play politics with all this “Culture War” nonsense….they even liked Kenobi well enough
I wouldn't speak for most of those you tube channels, but I will say that very many of them are not Anti-Disney, in fact many are or were huge Disney, Lucas, and Marvel fans but just have gotten quite disheartened with how things have progressed for those studios and the theme parks and simply want them to turn the ship around. Seems parallel to this forum, to me at least. It should be troubling to Disney that some of the anti-Disney YouTubers are getting nearly as many views as their hundred million dollar films, especially when their arguments are valid.
That said I hate YouTube’s algorithms, I’ve watched a few of the links provided here and now YouTube is recommending (what seems like) every anti-Disney site on their app. Watching a few anti Disney sites shouldn’t undo a decade of watching primarily Disney fan sites.
No.. the problem Disney marketing did was create a New Coke instead of the original Classic Coke everyone wanted just like Coca-Cola did in the 80s.The problem lies with you for viewing Halle Bailey that way, not with Disney for casting her in a role that she pulled off brilliantly.
And other viewers, myself included, watched it and really enjoyed her performance. A horrible decision from your perspective, a positive decision from mine.No.. the problem Disney marketing did was create a New Coke instead of the original Classic Coke everyone wanted just like Coca-Cola did in the 80s.
It was a horrible marketing decision. My little girl watched it and was disappointed that wasn’t Little Mermaid.
Opinions vary…The problem lies with you for viewing Halle Bailey that way, not with Disney for casting her in a role that she pulled off brilliantly.
Unsurprisingly, this has nothing to do with my point.Opinions vary…
I suggest you study your favorite company’s means and methods a little more close…
For instance - thing she was signed to a 3 picture “option”?
Which would be unnecessary for a live action remake…
Call your sources and ask around.

See the comment above yours, it’s spot on.They did. It made a billion dollars.
“It made a billion dollars…” /sarcasmThe force awakens did $2.06 billion
The Last Jedi did $1.33 billion
Rise of Sky Walker did $1.07 billion
That’s a 49% decrease over the last trilogy, you can’t honestly think the previous movies and criticism didn’t hurt the latter films.
Unfortunately the box office didn’t respond like Disney had hoped… hey some people liked new coke back in the 80s but most were upset Coke classic disappeared and it was brought back. And other viewers, myself included, watched it and really enjoyed her performance. A horrible decision from your perspective, a positive decision from mine.
But none of that has anything to do with whether it's appropriate to dismiss Halle Bailey as "a cheap Beyoncé".
