I mean, I personally like the way G+ functions much better than FP+, but having to pay for it is obviously a massive hurdle in terms of genuinely preferring it. I am always up at 7am anyway, and I would rather make ride plans only slightly offset from real time rather than months before when I won’t know the weather conditions or which parks I’ll want to revisit late in my trip.

The cost is really the thing for me. I got G+ last week at Epcot and basically ended throwing the money away on one ride because everything else had such low wait times. At least with FP+ I knew I could get a ride that had a long wait time - if I didn’t, I didn’t spend any money. Frozen and Rat were booked completely up by 10am that day.

Seriously though I'm guessing if the parks struggle with attendance I'm guessing we will see "free Genie plus" tied to resort stays or ticket lengths just like free dinning or disney dinning cards are now

Agree that they can't go back to free other than maybe as a promotional thing now and then but they can certainly fix the 7am thing.

Personally, I would also like to be able to buy it for length of stay ahead of time. Add that and allow the first ride booking(s) a week out to avoid the 7am on trips and leave the rest alone.

For me, this just erodes the only uniquely appealing aspect of the service, though not to the extent of other suggestions, I suppose.

That 7am thing really stinks for a lot of people and they mentioned they were going to do something about it. My preference is the one week out, first selection only route so that it works basically the same as now but you can wake up when you want.

Not great but better than 7am every morning of your trip while still avoiding the complaint of FP+ that it was too far in advance. Anyway, they don't have to do 7am, they could make it anytime, but figured they will want to keep it timed similar to what people use now.

I hate the advanced booking component and I hate the 7 AM fastest finger component. The best version of this system was Max Pass which required you to check in at the park before you could make a reservation. I don't understand why this is so hard for them to figure out.

If they insist on an advanced booking, it shouldn't be more than a single attraction and that single attraction shouldn't effect your day of actions. I would accept one advanced booking (say 2 weeks out, or 2 weeks out + 9 for resort guests) and then your day of bookings begin when you enter the park.

I really liked MaxPass as well, but I think it worked really well because a low percentage of people paid for it. That was just a paid over the top offering for free fastpass. Plus those parks have more attractions overall and probably half of the attractions didn't even have a FP line.

I think this is as close to MaxPass as they could get for WDW. And I agree that only one advance selection should be offered (per day), if they have to do that. Almost every change so far has made G+ even less usable, so I worry about them playing around to much with what we say that we want.

Convenient for “justifying” putting up the price for later in the week. In their eyes at least.

While that's true. My hope is just maybe they finally understand Genie+ was made for limited use. Make it $50 a person per day but limit it to 25% of guests a day.

Maxpass was the best by far…
…but people continue to complain about Pre booking…

So they’ll feed that nonsense and charge for it.

They can't. They don't have enough capacity to do that. It's why FP+ went away. IMO they are only bringing pre booking back cause guests like their spreadsheet plans.

We had some pretty terrible LL waits recently, including 25 minutes at Big Thunder and 28 minutes at Jingle Cruise. Those both seemed worse than what I've been used to.
