Rain is expected to continue in the Orlando area through 5 PM. The good news is that it appears the worst is over. Hopefully Disney and Universal will send their inspectors out to formulate a plan for Friday, the weekend and the next week, because it's pretty obvious the effects of Ian will continue to ne felt for some time.

More like reflects poorly on Duke. They are such tightwads that refuse to ever bury any lines. The reason Disney still has power is because they have their own plant and bury all the lines on property. It also makes them a safe haven for evacuees.

I live in a neighborhood powered by Duke. Our lines are buried and I never lost power.

Turnpike is closed in both directions from exits 254 to 267. It's underwater.

Just seeing video that FHP is in the process of closing a 15 mile stretch of Florida Turnpike from 408 to 528 due to road flooding

It's now closed. Wow

From our room we can see a few leaves and a branch or two that have been thrown around. We'll venture out a bit later this morning to assess the rest of the resort

WFTV was showing video of Gatorland a few minutes ago, can confirm that.

The flooding will continue to get worse through today and likely into tomorrow. Historically, when we get flooding here it builds for some time after the storm vs dissipating immediately after.

I was waking up expecting to see images of Disney and Universal being submerged in floodwaters. Thank God that didn't come to pass.

2nd floor at SSR. No power problems as of yet, floor in our room is dry. Hallway is wet but no real standing water where we are, just some random tree debris. Golf course has more water hazards this morning.

I would not be surprised to see curfews enacted very soon to keep everyone off the roads.
