No…they drastically increased ticket prices in that “free era”
Ive stated countless times Ive NEVER had a problem obtaining a FP for any ride as a resort guest at basically any time i wanted pre noon 1130-1230 latest slot OTHER THAN Frozen when it opened that include FoP , 7DMT, SDD etc and the Frozen issue was literally resolved with a courtesy email to Guest Services asking how someone's window can open up who is going for 8-9 days and on every day it not being available.... I received a phone call and the lady gave me not one but 2 FP to ride on both my days at any time i wanted. thats i guess when Disney actually cared & tried to make magic happen...
Oh TRUST me ive been saying that countless times FP was not "free" same with ME same with resort transport, same with parking before they actually charged... it was already baked into the room or ticket prices.... now they have literally removed everything except buses and charging extra for the rest... so im under NO illusion we werent paying for it already hence why one of my prior suggestions were to keep it "free' & just increase prices incrementally for certain things and and allocate that money to FP revenue.....
Well you have some secret. Because first you would have had to line them up exactly 1 hour apart starting at opening to maximize the “extras” after. Second..:you would have to hover over the thing for hours to search for all but the useless stuff that NEVER should have had fastpass and caused a lot of the problem to begin with..:

Once again, reservation and virtual queue systems require extra capacity outside of the reservation system in order to function. Every missing meet and greet, or shuttered gift shop or understaffed snack stand reduces the ability to offer reservations.
Im from NY and would go once a year a couple times made 2 trips. Normally end of summer then started week of thanksgiving or week after. Been there columbus week and presidents week as well. I never had issues getting rides from 9-10 1005-1105 then 1110-1210. And at times lucky enough to moveup my last window or if a ride had no real line cxl my 1st FP and book another. Ive stated i have been lucky w some extra ME FP on some trips i also have DAS but honestly those were more used for a reride especially in the days you had to walk up to the ride itself. Like i said. Maybe im lucky but for most part with FP after the 3rd i was always able to get solid rides and within a nice timeframe. Last year of FP i vividly remember literally going on ToT multiple timesin a row using FP as people were waiting in long lines. So yes obviously some days were weekdays but some weekends. I dk what else to say. This was my experience. I have no reason to lie. I been following these boardsbasically since the beginning didnt get anaccount until years later and honestly never even posted until the Genie/FP debate and the Splash debate….
The tiering proved fastpass+ didn’t work the MINUTE they rolled it out.
I never said genie sucks bc its paid. I said it sucks bc it in fact sucks and is awful. And again. Imo FO was great and did exactly what it was suppose to do for a resort guest based in MY experience.

Honestly…then your story or “always getting what you wanted” just doesn’t match up. There’s some details missing to justify how big the fish is compared to what you say it is.
Okay so then they should have went complete standby using this logic and the debate could have been settled once and for all. Or heres an idea open up the shuttered rides attractions shops shows entertainment longer hours and what not!!!! The excuses being made to defend them or justify things are baffling to me.

How doesnt it add up? I would be able to choose any ride i wanted at any given park when my resort window opened up excluding Frozen already explained. FoP genuinely was a later one 1130-12 say and it didnt matter bc we always ate at Tusker House so actually worked out great. I have DAS but again never really needed it and it was used more for a reride or a gap filler for something quick but rarely as a ride we didnt have. Ive also said ive had some “bad things” happen and been given ME passes on some if my trips but not all. Again. This is what ive been lucky enough to do. My daughter who is 8 and been there i think 9 times honestly hasnt had to wait on a line once. Barnstormer was our longest 30 minutes when she was just tall enough to ride. Again maybe i was lucky. I dont know but this was my experience. Dont forget im there anywhere from 8-10 days so i have flexibility with my options etc.
What you describe is a good day for the majority of visitors. It is what the parks should have the capacity to offer to everyone. You’re coming in a little under 1.5 per hour but also above the 7 - 8 per day threshold that Disney became obsessed with starting the mid-90s.
Exactly. Trust me i have noone to impress at all. Im sharing my experience w the product as truthful as can be. Maybe im an outlier maybe im the norm. I dont know but i do know this was my experience. Plain and simple.
You keep conflating understanding with defense.
Nobody is saying Genie+ is better or that FP+ didn't work for you. Everyone acknowledges that they lack capacity right now with things closed. We also know FP+ isn't likely coming back.
