EPCOT Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

That post didn't age well. 😂

Of course, I am 99.999% sure that the DVC phone people were instructed to not give out any information about the previews so creating an account here to refute what dozens of people said seems to be a wee bit foolish.
I have to say that I'm really disappointed in the way Disney handled this. What harm is there in letting people have a bit of a heads-up when the sign-up will start? Instead, I didn't even receive an e-mail about the sign-up until 12 minutes after the sign-up had started. If it hadn't been for this site (thank you!) I wouldn't have even known to be looking for the link today.

Yeah it sold out in 8 minutes. It’s $35 and you get a $20 gift card! Lol. That’s pretty cheap for 4pm regular admission even if you have no interest in this new ride.

Hopefully Disney just wanted to do something good for the members and it’s not an indication of the ride quality.
Isn't D23 a self-organizing fan club that pays their way to have access to Disney?

I mean it was nice of Disney to consider them as a group who will throw cash at Disney for a preview (which D23 recoups by charging its members... for a profit?).

But the real niceness here is *free* previews for DVC and AP. Two groups who have mourned that Disney doesn't care about them anymore.

Disney IT for the win again! I did receive the notification email from DVC a few days ago to be on the lookout for the reservations email, but so many people have problems with getting emails it's beyond ridiculous.

You know what's really funny? In any other large customer-centric company, this sort of poor customer communication and lack of capacity for large events would not be tolerated. I've worked for Fortune 100 companies where if this sort of thing wasn't figured out within weeks, if not days, heads would roll. At Disney, it's just a shrug and "Sorry about that". There are ways to expand capacity temporarily, and they choose not to.

No. D23 is owned and operated by Disney.

Not sure how something that breaks down more than a 75 amc pacer lives up to hype but okay.
I feel like it was pretty clear I was referring to the ride's design and not its downtime - which I'll grant you IS significant and also a bummer.

The point was that if Disney had any reasonable expectation that Cosmic Rewind would impress in any way similar to a functioning Rise, they'd be shouting it from Topolino. But they aren't doing that.

Valid points.

Umm no, not at all. D23 was directly created by Disney and is fully run by them.

The price of a yearly D23 membership plus this event is around the price of a regular ticket to Epcot, which is what’s surprising to me. Annual Passholders and DVC members are no less special but already pay a lot more money.

I was in queue with about 60 folks in front of me, then realized that we leave on the 9th so I backed out of it. My only gripe is that they only offered dvc 2 days. Our AP expired October 2021. 😒
