WHEN:
Friday, January 14th-Monday, January 17th

We had a 7:00 flight that evening b/c R & J both had school that day. When I say R had school what I really mean is that he had to work. He is a principal & really does not like taking off from work while school is in session. I happened to be off that day so I was able to take my time getting ready to go & for once didn't feel like I was rushing from work to the airport.

We ate at Penn Brewery for dinner & while we waited for our food R taught J how to gamble!!
IMG_3979.JPEG

He was so excited b/c he won $10.00. Beginner's luck!! 🤣
IMG_3980.JPEG

R decided that he only wanted pierogies that were on the appetizer menu. I tried to talk him into getting something more but he said he wasn't that hungry. Guess who was starving by the time we got to Florida??
IMG_3981.JPEG

There was quite the scene at the gate as the passengers from the previous flight were coming off. See my man standing up with the dark orange hoodie?? Wow.... Apparently he was refusing to wear his mask on the plane & was giving the flight attendants a hard time about it. He was still carrying on even after the flight. Well, he was so busy being a jerk that he forgot his coat on the plane. Now he wanted to go back on & get it. He was told he wasn't allowed. It was very obvious(& rightfully so) that Southwest took their good old time going back on there to retrieve it. It seemed like they were stalling long enough to give airport security time to get there!! Served him right!! All that did was created more of a scene though. Finally, security ended up escorting him out. He kept saying he has the right to not wear a mask. Come on dude, we've been wearing them on planes for the last 2 years. If you don't like it, stay home. No one is forcing you to fly. Where I got really irritated was when our flight was delayed b/c of Mr. Non Rule Follower. I don't want to sound mean but I hope he ended up getting some kind of fine over his antics!!
IMG_3983.JPEG

J started out by reading the beverage menu that evening!! 🤣
IMG_3987.JPEG

He followed up with the safety instructions after that!! 🤣
IMG_3988.JPEG

Fortunately our flight wasn't delayed too long & we landed shortly before 10. Really, 9:37 & our room still wasn't ready??
IMG_3989.PNG

By 9:50 it was though:rolleyes:
IMG_3990.PNG

None of us checked in luggage b/c it was going to be a short trip. The car service was waiting for us & we were home in no time at all!!

J trying to swipe some of E's wine flight :jawdrop:
View attachment 626773

R & E both got the Under A Tuscan Sun flight while I got the From The Hills of Piemonte. We were all very pleased with our selections!!
View attachment 626774

For our lunch selections J got chicken tenders & green beans. I got spaghetti.
View attachment 626775

E got a caesar salad with shrimp & R got lasagna. We all thought the food was excellent!! E liked it so much that she wanted to get reservations there again next month. R said it was the best piece of lasagna that he has ever had. We have a friend who works at Olive Garden. R was telling him how good this lasagna was & how Olive Garden's doesn't compare. But R still goes ahead & orders the lasagna. Our friend brings it out to him & says, "Here's your subpar lasagna!!"
View attachment 626776

I thought this was very interesting!!
View attachment 626777

J ordered a cappuccino for dessert.
View attachment 626779

R got the tiramisu for dessert. I am not a fan of Italian desserts so I passed on getting anything.
View attachment 626780

E got a cappuccino also.
View attachment 626781

We all enjoyed our meals a ton!! I would definitely go back there sooner than later!! Everything was excellent & the service was great!!
We love Tutto Italia! We’ve eaten there a few times and have always enjoyed our meals!

The gentleman took a great deal of time with him. It almost reminded me of a facial for men!!
It takes a professional to safely shave with a straight razor. That must have been quite an experience for your DH.

Then came the haircut!!
He looks great!

The place was pretty cool. Small but really neat. They played a lot of Frank Sinatra type of music.
Love that they set the retro mood in there, with the Sinatra-inspired music.

Then it was J's turn!!
Of course it was! :joyfull:

He got some of that face treatment also!!
I got such a chuckle out of that photo. Must have made J feel all grown up, to receive (some) of the facial treatments that the other "men" get in there! ;)

For whatever reason he was a little nervous about getting his hair washed but in the end he was happy that he did!!

We have a trip planned for July. R & J have decided that they both want to go back!!
View attachment 626747

You get to pick a cologne scent at the end that they spray you with. I think you had a choice of 4 different kinds.
View attachment 626748

Had to throw this pic in!! This is J getting his 1st hair cut!! It was in 2016 at The Harmony Barber Shop!! And let me tell you, he was not happy!! It was a struggle for years for him to get his hair cut. He absolutely hated it!!
View attachment 626753
Can't believe how little he was!!

We had a lunch reservation & were cutting it super close due to the appointment time change so we decided to take a Lyft so we weren't late.

The finished products!!

Awww.....J must have felt so grown up getting a facial thing and all that! So sweet! He definitely looked a bit nervous and upset at the beginning, and then all proud and happy when he was done!

The lasagna does look good. The best lasagna I've ever had is this little place in Fort Collins, Colorado, called Bisetti's. It was originally started by an Italian couple and I think their kids probably run it now, but I don't know. But their lasagna is amazing. I always get their sampler because it has lasagna on it, but also Eggplant Parmesean, which is also delicious, and Alfredo, which is good, but it's the least excitig to me. If you are ever in Northern Colorado, I highly recommend it. It's also right next to Kilwins chocolate, so we always go and get a bunch of fudge before we stuff ourselves with Italian food.

Loved Bisetti's!! They are closed down now, but a family favorite for many, many years!

Your meal looked very good from Via Napoli! I agree with you on the whole AP things Patti! We've had to wait in many long lines in the past to activate it after renewal. Funny story about R and his lasagna! 🤣
I just don't get the purpose of that. And it stinks b/c E, J & myself all have different renewal dates so it feels like more often than not one of us is getting our pass renewed!!
It was pretty funny!! I couldn't stop laughing when our friend said that!!
I totally see the family resemblance in this photo! He looks so much like you here!
I had no idea you could get a haircut here. Thank you for sharing!
Really?? After you said that I kept looking back at the pic but I don't see it!!
I didn't either until I went online to see about booking the appointment for him. To give you an idea of cost I know for Rob to have the shave & haircut it was $160.00. For J to get a haircut it was $50.00. I don't know how much of R's total was for his haircut. Meaning, I don't know if a child's haircut is cheaper than an adults or not.
Yes, I read about the Figment Popcorn Bucket line!!!! I think you all had a much better time that the people in that line! 🤣
That was totally crazy!! Definitely a sight to see!! We definitely did--people were waiting 6 hours in line for it. No thanks!!
Aww hope Bob is alright. Your appetizers look delicious! J's haircut is so adorable on him.
I know he's played since then so I'm sure he is. The whole thing was really odd, though.
I'll let him know you said that!!
We love Tutto Italia! We’ve eaten there a few times and have always enjoyed our meals!
It was really good!! I wish I had tried it years ago but we'll definitely be back!!

🤣 🤣 🤣
Love it!! I knew I could count on you!!

I would have to agree b/c to me it looked downright scary!! He really, really enjoyed it!!
He looks great!
Thanks--I'll let him know you said that. Even though I know someone out there that may not agree with you. Right, @Tuvalu? :joyfull:
Love that they set the retro mood in there, with the Sinatra-inspired music.
It was really neat. It definitely added something to the experience!!
Of course it was! :joyfull:
I'm so glad he wanted to do it!!

He was nervous but I'm not sure why. He's the type that is always nervous to try something for the first time but after he does it once he acts like he's a pro!!

That all sounds very good!! Esp the fudge part!!
My husband said the same thing. Béchamel doesn’t do it for me but he still talks about it and begs me to make it.
Yay--you got to post!! And, let me guess, you make it?
Just to clarify--he says that about the lasagna there??
Loved Bisetti's!! They are closed down now, but a family favorite for many, many years!
Oh bummer!! Hopefully Kilwins is still open??

SUNDAY, JANUARY 16TH

It was a very soggy morning at POR. Had we been staying there for a week I may have skipped my walk that day but since our time was limited I headed out and made the best of it!!
IMG_4106.JPEG

Quite a few puddles everywhere!!
IMG_4107.JPEG

IMG_4108.JPEG

I was still happy to be there!!
IMG_4110.JPEG

We were at the bus stop at 9:30 & look what pulled in. Remember, just the day before I was told that DS buses don't start running until 10?? Sad thing is, I knew better than that b/c for years I would shake my head seeing DS buses at 9 in the morning. But since I was told they don't run until 10 I didn't want to take the chance that they might be right!!
IMG_4111.JPEG

HS was as damp as POR was.
IMG_4114.JPEG

At least it made for low crowds!!
IMG_4115.JPEG

And where do you think my family sought shelter from the storm at? :joyfull:
IMG_4116.JPEG

First in line for opening!!
IMG_4117.JPEG

J jumped in for a picture but he & I were heading off with plans of our own.

What???? When did they close?? OH NO! That breaks my heart! I've been going there since college. We would make the hour and a half drive from Laramie just to eat there!

I was finally getting my chance to ride Remy!! Remember I had boarding groups a few times in the past but never got to ride it. I should have kept it that way. Wow--holy motion sickness in the beginning!! Everyone else was fine with it except me which is weird b/c I'm usually the one who doesn't get sick.
View attachment 626791

Blurry photo from inside the ride. The picture looks like I felt at that point!!

I’m goin’ with the Figment popcorn bucket on that long line. Some streamers we know spent over 6 hours in that line…!!!!! :hilarious:
They managed to score one for us about a week later, but, it didn’t show up on our front porch ‘til March 5th…!!!!! 🤣

2016. They decided to retire and sold the building. I think they may have owned a substantial part of that block, which was a fabulous investment on their parents' part!

Even in the rain, this is the most beautiful resort on property.
I couldn't agree more!!
Holy expensive buzzcut Batman!!
Yep!! A far cry from what he pays at Sports Clips on a normal day!!

J & I headed to Star Tours while E & R were securing the beer.
IMG_4119.JPEG

It was a walk on.
IMG_4120.JPEG

@amjt660 do you think that girl was posing for our picture?
IMG_4121.JPEG

Wait times were still low so I texted E and told her J & I were going to go on RNRC.
IMG_4122.JPEG

IMG_4124.JPEG

J likes this ride so much now that he requests the front seat every time!!
IMG_4125.JPEG

Far cry from his first time riding just a few months back when he had his arm wrapped around mine!!
IMG_4146.JPG

Since becoming a RNRC fan he has subsequently become an Aerosmith fan(remember, this is the kid who liked Motley Crue at the age of 3)!! Santa brought him this shirt for Christmas so he wanted to wear it this day!! As bad as I felt having him take his sweatshirt off I asked him if he would do it quickly just to get a picture in front of the guitar.
IMG_4127.JPEG

E thought it was an awesome idea & was glad he did it!!
