*facepalm*

The post does not mean mean devoid of opinion or that it applies universally. It means devoid of irrational bias. His opinions has been formed from reasonable, level, objective, points of comparison with conclusions he can support and presented in a clear format. He's draw conclusions from real experiences and not just emotions or hearsay. That is an objective approach -- even in topics that are subjective.
Except it's not.

Subjectivity is not just irrational bias, it's any bias. Just because the conclusion is draw from experience doesn't mean it's objective.

If you would like I've linked a quick exercise from Old Dominion University that can help you understand the difference between objective and subjective:

http://www.lib.odu.edu/genedinfolit/1infobasics/subjective_vs_objective.html

Or you can just keep using the word objective incorrectly.

You're fun.

DVC members rent out their points for profit all the time.

In 2015, the average annual Maintenance Fee at the WDW DVC resorts was $5.78/point.

Places like David's DVC Rental are just begging DVC members for more points to rent, offering members up to $13/point so David's can rent them out at $16/point.

Under absolutely no circumstances are DVC members "forced" to go to WDW. Quite the opposite; they profit by not going to WDW.

Correct. Our June trip this year at the VWL for 8 nights in a 2 Bedroom will use up 405 of my points. I could rent those out easily (they are BLT and BCV points) for $13 per for a total of $5,265. We still go to WDW though.

For us, we typically spend 1-2 days at wdw parks every few years. That means that the 10 day non-expiring tickets we bought are a good purchase. In 2009 our hopper + water parks was ~$550. In 2013, our hopper w/o water parks was ~750. It was a huge increase in price and we didn't even have water parks the second time. We have 2 days and 7 water parks on one and 8 days on the other.

I can't remember the math, but each time we saved considerably over the alternative. But maybe the prices have changed enough so it is no longer the case with no expiration. I should look back and see what we paid exactly. Always from undercouver tourist, of course.

I will say that for $230 as non Florida residents we just bought univeral power passes. The cost differential between three day tickets (~$180 if I recall) was made up by the ap hotel savings alone for our three night trip. And we plan to go with the kids again in the summer, and maybe stretch a third trip next January.

Do WaterParks&More options remain valid if the # of park days on a non-expiring ticket are used up?

IE, if you had a 10 day non-expire, only used 1 water park, and then used the 10 park days... is there any valid use for water parks left on the ticket after the 10 days have been used?

Yes.

Well at least the did a couple of years ago, but I do not know of any change in policy regarding this.

Yeah I have a bunch of old "Plus" features on tickets from the 90s... I think I have some Pleasure Island access and a few other now useless entitlements.

I was thinking more the MYW tickets.. since thats when expiration came around.

Sometimes you can convert 'useless' stuff. I got value for my discovery island tickets... forget what they gave me.

based on that scenario you should have 9 days of water park left on ticket as the WP's are seperate entitlements

I just checked...Nov 2009 10 day hopper no expire with water parks was $547. Feb 2013 10 day hopper no expire without water parks was $655. Not as big an increase as I'd thought. But now they are $769 and $755 respectively.

But still compared to buying 5 2-day hopper tickets it is a good deal.

Going back to ticket value, the only way to really attempt to show TDO that we are not satisfied with the service and value in relation to price, is to not go there. I don't think it will ever really make a dent as there are so many others who would take our place. As previously stated in one of my earlier posts, I am still going there for a day. That is really not a, "yeah I'll show them" by doing that. However, I will be cruising for 5 days and it is a lot of money that TDO will not be getting. So really, I am not helping the problem overall, but moving it elsewhere in the company.

Some folk have bought passes and been holding on to them for years with the plan that as prices rise, they can always use the ones they have, and adding a day or two to the ticket will be small change as they go off of current pricing (in most cases, may not apply to some of the old passes).

If the leaked news is true, seems to me some of these old passes lose their value on longer trips. For example:

If they drop "Park Hopper with Waterpark and more"and have a new category something akin to "Park and Plus Hopper", essentially anyone with the old style passes will not be allowed to add a day.

Same goes for the Non expiration passes, no adding of even a single day, as that pass will no longer exist.

Since Annual passes look like they'll have no changes they'll be fine, the Premium AP was always a water park hopper.
