I read at another location 10 months minimum with an open ended frame at the end of that.

10 months seems like a good refurb to me.

Yep. The more time it stays closed, the better the refurb. Especially since a large portion of the early work will be purely...umm...non-show related. Don't want anyone getting mesothelioma...

Plus the Giant Rats they gotta' chase out of the bottom of the ride...oh, and the Fungal Rot in the queue.

Clean the scum off the track...

New shocks, Brake Peds...

Get that Bat out of the attic...

Nope.
After April 19 the ride will be completely un-openable until after the refurb.

:sohappy:

You think our pictures and your letters finally got through to him?

How long did DL's SM rebuild take?
Also, does anyone know if this is total track replacement or not?

Total closure was a bit more than 2 years. Actual work was about 20 months, if I recall correctly.

Total track replacement? Last I heard, no. Partial would be more likely.

Would this partial track replacement be the addition of banked turns?

Hah!
Doubt it. Otherwise it would be an 18 month to 2 year closure:rolleyes:

True.

I'm guessing that the Main Lifts and the Tunnels will be left in place. (Well, some Chain work for the Lifts hopefully.)

Now I REALLY hope while they are at it they get rid of the two-tan outside and paint the freakin' bottom to match the top.
