Have you ever been evacuated off of a Disney ride?

Have you ever been instructed to exit a Disney ride vehicle at a place other than the normal area?

Since I am a legit cast member now I had the privilege of riding on the Mine Train before it opened. However as soon as we got in the tunnel with the Dwarves, it stopped. It just completely stopped. I was really sad. They had to come and get us off. Everyone that I tell about it thinks it's awesome. In a way it was cool but I haven't been on it again yet and I really want to ride it again and I know there will be a long wait. I just hope it doesn't keep breaking down.

Have experienced multiple stalls for extended periods on rides like Haunted Mansion and Pirates... have also been forced to get out of the car and walk out of Alice and Wonderland at DL... but none of those were ever as annoying as being at the point where you get are about to board the and the ride breaks down and you are told its down... I've had that happen twice once at the Grizzly River and once on Indy both at DL (which was the worst because it was on the last day of our trip and they told it the ride would be down for the rest of the day)... And oddly we have been to WDW far more times but never had as bad of luck there as at DL.

We were on pirates when it broke and had to be evacuated. We floated for awhile and eventually our boat was pulled to the side and we got out and went out a door and we were led outside and were backstage. We got fast passes for a ride.
Had an experience similar to someone else's at soarin where we were seated and sat for awhile and the given fast passes for another ride, but that was at California Adventure and we got to use our fast passes in Disneyland park too. Radiator springs wasn't open yet.
We've also gotten stuck on test track and got to ride again right away and our elevator stalled at tower of Terror too.

Well if it makes you feel any better the times we have gotten the fastpasses because of ride problems they have always had an exclusion for Radiator Springs... so you couldn't have used them on that ride even if it had been there.

evacuated from the top of Everest. Had to walk down the inside stairwell of the mountain. Exit door was just after the yeti so didn't get a chance to see him up close.

We got evacuated from Ellen's Energy Adventure. We made it into the room with the dinosaurs and sat there for about 15 minutes before someone came to get us. We then walked through the dino room, through a door, down a bunch of really lame office-looking hallways, and came out right next to the Wonders of Life Pavilion. It was fine by me. We went on the ride so my 1yr old could take a nap. Broken ride = more nap time.

Happened to us the first time ever last fall. We were on Splash Mountain just before the drop into the Laughin Place and were waiting there for several minutes before they came over the loudspeaker and announced that we'd be walked out of the ride. They had to come and release the safety locks for the bars and had us all wait on the walkway as they unloaded three or four other boats. After that they took us through one of the back hallways and out an emergency exit then directed us behind the building and around to an exit by the bathrooms. They did give us a fastpass for any ride.

Overall it was pretty drama free though some kids were taking pictures leaning against the set and trees and had to be told to delete the pictures by cast members. We thought it was kind of cool.

Only time I've been evacuated off an attraction was on Spaceship Earth. Right at the top, of course. We had just spun around to start going down backwards and everything stopped. We sat there for quite a few minutes and finally a CM came and got us. There was a storm blowing in outside and I think it hit the power or something. The funniest part was that my GF at the time who was riding with me (she's from the area) was telling me how her father one was of the people who wired up that attraction (he was an electrician). A few seconds after that was when it broke down. I just laughed at her and said, "well he didn't do a very good job, did he?"

I've gotten stuck on Splash Mountain a few times. Nothing too serious, but I would love to be evacuated from there sometime.

In 2010, we got stuck on Winnie the Pooh in the door leading to "The Rain Rain Rain came Down Down Down" scene. Twenty minutes of that song drove us insane. Eventually, some CMs came by, opened the control panel in the side of the Honey Pot, and then pried the door open. It's actually a bit of a drop, but you don't realize it until you're stepping out of the vehicle when you're not in the loading/exit area. We got to walk out of the rest of the attraction, and I thought it was absolutely fascinating. I was getting as close to the AA figures as I could without fear of getting yelled at! lol

I posted in this before but I actually completely forgot another time we had to be evacuated at MK on TTA. We decided to take a little spin before holiday Wishes as we had some time to kill... Just as the car in front of us was slowing at the end where you get out of the vehicle, out vehicle failed to slow down and crashed into the car in front of ours. Then everything shut down, except the car behind ours was still going and hit us, which caused us to hit the one in front of us again. they told everyone to stay seated and of course the car in front of ours, some of the doors had opened and people we let off, but there was a guy and his family is the last seats who's door hadn't opened. He proceeded to stand up in the car, lift his daughter over and out of the car onto the platform. He was promptly yelled at by CMs. We then had to be evacuated. We made it with seconds to spare for Holiday Wishes. When it was over, people above Tomorrowland Terrace on the TTA still hasn't been evacuated yet.

I've never been evacuated, no matter how many times over the years I've been to the parks. How, I don't know, just lucky I guess. I'm not the biggest fan of heights (though coasters don't really bother me, actually) so being stopped high up has always terrified me. Movement high up, I'm fine, but stuck and walking high up ... um no. Not coaster height. I guess a dark ride wouldn't be bad to be evacuated off of.

Got stuck in big thunder mountain and had to walk out of the mountain. It was so freakin' cool for a disney nerd like me. Felt like I was behind the scenes!

I don't think I ever evac'd from a WDW ride but the rest of my family did. Test Track back in like '09. It was at night & it had started raining. They stopped right by the doors to the outside. There was a car load of cheer/dance girls on the outside of the door squealing & screaming about getting wet which my sons thought was fabulous considering how the girls' hollering & carrying-on had been a thorn in their side thru the line & first part of the ride. ;)

In late April/early May this year my 16 yro son & I were evac'd from Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at Disneyland. We stopped in Hell of all places. 10-15 mins then the lights came on & a CM came to get us. So now I can say I walked out of Hell. ;)

We were evacuated off ToT. The ride stopped after our drop and wouldn't move, so they took us off the back way. They allowed us to get right back at the front of the line though, so we had 2 rides.

We were evac'd from Dinosaur in January, my first and only time on the ride. We were about 3/4 of the way through and the lights and sound went out, with an announcement that there was a malfunction and we would be evacuated shortly. However the car was still bouncing. Not moving forward, just bouncing around. Then the work lights came one and we could see all of the dino bits and fake shrub glued to the wall and sitting around. DH noted that all of the sound FX and lighting had been off the whole time (I had no idea). Finally the car went still, but our seat belt locks were still on. Finally they went unlocked, and eventually CM's came around to escort us out (telling us to stay out of the middle of the track), all in all stuck for around 30 minutes. We got fast passes, but it was our last ride of the day. Was very strange being stuck on the car in that way, but our other riders were friendly so it wasn't too bad.

Also been evac'd from EEA before the big bang, and stuck for not too long on HM, PoTC, and IaSW.

I have been evacuated off Toy Story Mania all three times 3 times I've ridden it at DHS. The only time I have ridden all the way through was at DCA. I guess they end the same. :p
