I hope everyone saying it's $10 realize that it's $10 PER day PER person. A family of 3 over 3 days is $90. Bigger families and longer trips are even worse. It doesn't sound like people are really thinking about just how expensive this will be.

Think about your last Disneyland trip and factor in that cost if you had used this and it was available.

I don't know. If I'm spending those outrageous prices for 1 day park hoppers ($900 for a family of 6), I'm pretty sure I would spend another $60 for that perk to make the most out of my $900. Of course, the decent thing to do would be for Disney to offer this service for free.
Or offer it for free with big enough families. You're spending a boat load already.

They haven't taken anything away... it should have little impact on the normal Fastpass user.
I agree with most of your post but this is wrong. People without Maxpass will be getting worse or no times on their fastpasses because the MP users can can get them so much quicker. Whether or not it's a huge advantage remains to be seen but there is the possibility of MP users totally sucking the fast passes in circulation dry, even with the only one every two hour caps. You can bet MP users will be getting a FP once every two hours because they don't have to walk across the park to their FP ride

I think a lot of the people saying it's nothing might be solo park visitors? And some people have trouble seeing beyond their own perceived value.

So, I already have my ticket for my next trip and I have to wait until I enter the park to add MaxPass?
I'm sure you can add it at the ticket booths, Guest Relations or even though the Disneyland app.

Heck, if you slip Mickey a ten, he will do you right there.

Speaking of the Disneyland App, yesterday I got an email saying I had been identified as a user of the app asking me to take a survey. Of course I took it, and during the course of the questions, it came out that the day they had identified me as using it was 7-2-17. That's when everything started to unravel because I was then forced to admit that was more than a week after my last trip to the Disneyland resort with no immediate future trips planned, and I live in a zip code in another state. So basically, I took a survey that confirmed I look at wait times, character interactions, fastpass return times, the works, for no apparent reason other than I'm the biggest nerd that ever lived.

I took that survey for the same reason.

Aren't Disney surveys fun?!

I always squeal when I get an email asking me to take a survey. Finally someone who wants to talk about my unhealthy addiction! Usually people's eyes glaze over with disgust when I want to talk about it.
Magic Mountain surveys are even more fun.
1. What can we do to make our employees more helpful and friendly?
2. How is the quality of our food?
3. Do you feel safe?
4. How is the cleanliness of the park?
5. Do you like our new "themed" areas?
6. Should we add another roller coaster?

I just came back from DLR, interestingly with a group of friends who had just come back from WDW a few months ago, and saw some of the FastPass changes already going. I apologize if this has been discussed already - They have the magic band readers already installed on the rides with FP, you scan your park ticket twice (once at the beginning and once at the line break point) which confused a lot of guests. Not to mention the bog down of the FP line because people didn't have their tickets out and had to fish for them, or some tickets were wet from rides and wouldn't scan or some people showed up and one was ready but their parties were too early so they stood clogging everything up.

Plus the general group wasn't really utilizing FastPasses until the last day. My first day there I was getting "live FastPasses" meaning it was 10 PM and the FP time was to return at 10 PM even though there was a 45 minute stand by line with people just standing around waiting. That part was bizarre but it happened at both parks on the first two days there on multiple rides save Guardians and Radiator Springs.

Given that right now I can walk up to any FP station and put my card in and get an FP and then wander around to another and get them - during those first two days I was able to stack them getting one for Star Tours that was live and then walking over to Space and getting one that was about 15 minutes ahead. I don't see the benefit of this. Just getting them from my phone doesn't feel like a benefit if they are still offering them free with a walk. Unless we're heading down the road of doing away with the free FPs...

The attraction averages like 35-45min waits... it's not like it's 90mins all the time previously. I think people protest too much

Yeah, which will now be a 90 minute wait if you can't get a fast pass.

I've been on Toy Story Mania pre and post FP. Before FP there were many times where the ride waits were 60-90 minutes (although as a teacher I can only go during busy times like Summer and Christmas) - Post FP on this most recent trip where it was really busy the average wait time was about 50 minutes although on the busiest day of our trip it spiked to 75 minutes. The thing is a lot of people didn't utilize the FPs, I walked up and got an FP that went live 2 minutes after I got it and there as a 45 minute stand by wait. So people may not be fully aware it has one yet...
