Riddley was promoted to oversee the EPCOT transformation in 2017, and he was the “single accountable WDI leader for the EPCOT project, including master planning, story and concept, detailed design, and delivery/construction elements”. Riddley led a team of more than 500 members and 1,000 combined partners to execute the transformation.

I did not know he was the single accountable WDI leader for the project. Perhaps rather than talking about flooring he should have been talking about the bold vision, the choices they made, why they tore down a building and rebuilt it in the same spot...That might have inspired some confidence and goodwill about the project... I just don't know anything about him other than the posts, so while I can laugh about the posts, I can't really judge him as a professional or a creative.
And the LGBT thing, who knew or cares?

He’s not incompetent or a failure.

I hope he does well in the new role.
He is emblematic of the systematic problems at WDI and Disney. He's nothing more than an empty shell, whose corporate handlers thought could be molded into persona that resonated with parks fans and guests to distract from the utter trash that was being developed for the parks.

But hey, at least we got a 14 part introspective Instagram post on the details surrounding the complexity of commercially available flooring in the gift shop.

That was actually Chapek.

It turns out that Bob C left the secret recipe in a lockbox in his CEO desk. Only recently was Bob I able to crack open the box and utilize the secret inside to turn the financial fortunes of The Walt Disney Company around.

"We're promoting Zach."
"Oh yeah, to what position?"
"We've been asked to name it."
"Great! You get the hat, I'll get the corporate buzzwords tile set and we'll get this done by lunch. Do we need to include 'Executive Vice President' in the pile?"
"Uh, let's see.....apparently not, it's not THAT big a promotion."
"Heck, we'll be done by ten then. Fancy an afternoon round of golf?"

We know why they tore down a building and rebuilt it in the same spot and I doubt it was his idea to cut the budget massively for their big table idea.

I think the updated store and dining areas are fine. The other parts aren't open yet, so can't comment on those.

If he uses ecpot as s model going forward we are screwed….

Well if it's any conciliation, most of what was proposed for EPCOT was canceled, scaled back, or already scrapped. Aside from Guardians, which is mostly a clone of a commercially available ride system, his single biggest lasting legacy will be the flooring at Creations!

I only hope he selected tiles for the UK bathrooms at Epcot before moving on. I’m hoping it will look and smell like The Tube. Imagine how much they can save by telling the janitors to NOT wipe up urine off the floor.

…oh yeah…it’s a real “mystery box” of surprises to be unleashed over there now

I understand, but as a creative person who doesn't like being judged prior to a work being completed (unless I specifically request people's reaction in the middle of whatever I'm working on), I don't judge anything until a work is completed and I see it for myself.
Fair enough

Not gonna end well this go…methinks
