If that’s a “promotion” that leaves him with zero repsonsibility?
…then I couldn’t support it more

He is emblematic of the systematic problems at WDI and Disney. He's nothing more than an empty shell, whose corporate handlers thought could be molded into persona that resonated with parks fans and guests to distract from the utter trash that was being developed for the parks. He’s not incompetent or a failure.
I hope he does well in the new role.
What if you found out he was responsible for the delicious pickle shake???He is emblematic of the systematic problems at WDI and Disney. But hey, at least we got a 14 part introspective Instagram post on the details surround thing complexity of commercially available flooring in the gift shop.
That was actually Chapek. What if you found out he was responsible for the delicious pickle shake???
I did not know he was the single accountable WDI leader for the project. Perhaps rather than talking about flooring he should have been talking about the bold vision, the choices they made, why they tore down a building and rebuilt it in the same spot...That might have inspired some confidence and goodwill about the project... I just don't know anything about him other than the posts, so while I can laugh about the posts, I can't really judge him as a professional or a creative.
And the LGBT thing, who knew or cares?
If he uses ecpot as s model going forward we are screwed….
…oh yeah…it’s a real “mystery box” of surprises to be unleashed over there nowWe know why they tore down a building and rebuilt it in the same spot and I doubt it was his idea to cut the budget massively for their big table idea.
I think the updated store and dining areas are fine. The other parts aren't open yet, so can't comment on those.

That’s not the virtue it was under past managementYou gotta hand it to Disney. At least they're consistent.
Because why?Thankfully someone is saying this
Isn't that also the Peter Principle? Maybe Peter was the head of the IT department. This reminds me of the long-standing IT joke - "People rise to the level of their incompetence". (I'm NOT saying he's incompetent, before anyone jumps on that comment)

'Hate' is a strong word, too easily thrown around these days. I think some people aren't happy with what he did, or didn't do at Epcot and/or just dislike how he came across. But 'hate'?, I'm not so sure about that.I just don’t think the hate the guy gets is fair is all
I actually think you’re right and it’s very common “lower upper management” is being used to run interference for truly awful upper management.I just don’t think the hate the guy gets is fair is all
Fair enoughI understand, but as a creative person who doesn't like being judged prior to a work being completed (unless I specifically request people's reaction in the middle of whatever I'm working on), I don't judge anything until a work is completed and I see it for myself.
