Your WDW long-term goal

This is a fun topic!
Mine are:
1) Eat around the world - I only have Germany left to complete (though, Italy was last done in 1998, otherwise all others are 2007 or later)
2) Drink around the world - did during food and wine (but not all the temporary locations), utilized 2 trips around to make it happen - took hours
3) Drive a race car at the speedway. Not sure when I'll get to this one
4) Stay in all the DVC resorts, still have BCV and VWL to do, soon will have VGF as well I suppose
5) Do the African Safari Trek (walking tour) at Animal Kingdom

Here's mine:
  1. Stay in one of the Monorail resorts for 4-days, 3-nights (might be doing that next year at the Contemporary!)
  2. Go to Disneyland Resort in California
  3. Try to meet at least ONE or TWO (if I'm up to it) character (preferably Chip, Dale, Stitch, Panchito Pistoles, or Donald) in person
  4. Stay at a DVC resort
  5. Go to DisneyQuest

1 - Hug SSE. I have got to touch that alucobond. It's so close - now if only I could jump fourteen feet up or would invent a foldable ladder I can sneak in.
2 - Buy a bonsai Tree of Life for my living room.
3 - And a bonsai Castle and SSE too.
4 - Marry into the Steve Jobs' estate, use those 7% of shares as leverage to be promoted to vice-president Parks & Resorts, remove Hat and Magic Carpets and rebuild Horizons and Toad.
5 - Have Kelly Coffey sing 'The Promise' live at my wedding.
6 - Rent Cinderella to be my best friend for a day and do the MK together.

I would love a trip with a main purpose of eating and drinking around the world. I'd also like to stay at every resort on the MK monorail line (even just Poly would be fine, heh). That's really about it for long-term goals.

Ohh that sounds like fun! I kinda wanna do that now, too. Is it difficult to set up or reserve a spot?

omg DO IT! Make sure you take a pic! I can't remember how many times I thought the same exact thing.

I know this is a WDW site, but I love Disneyland too! Make sure you watch World of Color when you're there! :)

That's actually another long-term goal of mine as well. The only one I've been to is Contemporary. I just wished it didn't cost an arm and a leg to stay at those resorts. ::sad panda face::

To stay in each resort once would be a great 'shortish' long-term goal.

Overall, to be able to live and work closer to the parks (in IL now), and spend a significant amount of time there every year with my wife. Just hangin'...

Interesting question. We try to do something new each visit; eat at a new restaurant or ride a new ride and so on. But we've never set a goal. One thing we would like to do is stay at Poly and watch Wishes from the beach. Thought about adding a couple of days to our upcoming trip to do that but it's not going to happen. Oh well.

Hardly a long term goal but I would quite like to stay at the contemporary and the polynesian. I would also like to do the WDW Marathon at some point.
On my next trip I am going to try and do all the attractions I haven't actually done before (it's things like the Main street vehicles), although I do have TSMM to do as it was being refurbished last time!

Go with my children. Which I will be doing for the first time in October! They are 1, so excited!

Other than that, I would love to take some of the tours that Disney offers. I did the AK one where we went behind the scenes with the animals, which was awesome, but some of the others look really great too.

1. Stay in all the WDW Resorts
2. Visit Disneyland and Disneyland Paris (DLP will happen in 2014, not sure when DL will happen)
3. Eat at all the table service restaurants on property
4. Own DVC
5. Bring my children there

Ahh! Lucky! I've wanted to see what it's like inside Bay Lake Tower for the longest time. Do you have pics? I'm not stalking you, I swear. I just wanted to see inside the building.

No photos uploaded online but you can just go to images.google.com and type in Bay Lake Tower. There's plenty of interior shots. I got lucky and toured the tower when it was brand new (trying to sell us DVC) and saw the 3BR grand two level suite (mind blowing) and the private DVC lounge on top of the building. When we stayed, we couldn't get into the lounge because it was for DVC guests only. We were just paying for a night. :(

I know it's not the same but take the Undiscovered Future World tour. When we did, they had a sample of the material you could hold in your hand. Pretty freaking cool IMHO.

Great goals so far!

Oh, yes, I'll use ebay only if I find out that Disney will absolutely no longer sell a movie that I'm looking for, or go to a used movie store that sells old movies. I actually found The Black Cauldron beins sold at one of those stores. o_O (No, I didn't buy it lol)

i got the Black Cauldron for free through Disney Movie Rewards. to be honest, i've got quite a few movies that aren't currently available through the movie rewards. brilliant scheme from disney.

i too am trying to expand my disney collection. in 2010 i only had the Lion King and Mary Poppins. i now have 37 of the 51 disney classics and all of the disney pixar movies. i'm currently looking at getting the Walt Disney Treasures collection but it's massive and a lot of the dvds are only available in the US which is a bit of a bummer. i've been reading los of books lately on Walt, trying to learn what made the man tick and a lot of them obviously reference the classic black and white Mickey Mouse films, and it would just be nice to see them. some of them are on you tube but i would like to own them.

my ultimate WDW goal is to stay on site for one of our trips. i don't mind where, just as long as it's on site and i can completely immerse myself in disneyness for 2 weeks. and maybe visit the Castle Suite, just to say i've been in there.

my ultimate Disney goal is to visit Disneyland in Anaheim. however great WDW is, i'm sure visiting the original is pretty awesome.

My/Our "long term goal" is to become DVC members. It's something we really want to do but it's a long ways off.

Some other goals we have that aren't quite as long term are doing the behind the scenes tours like Keys and Undiscovered Future World etc.

My personal long term goal is to visit Disneyland before I die (very very long term eh?).

Short term goal? GO!

Half-day spa trip for my wife while I golf at a Disney Golf Course without worries about cost. Sounds silly? Sure but it is a definite goal.

I've been saying for years that I want to go to Magic Kingdom in the morning, grab a fastpass for Space Mountain, then fly from MCO to John Wayne Orange County (15 minutes from DL) and on the way home from the airport, stop at Disneyland and use the fastpass.

It WILL happen someday, it's just a matter of catching decently priced airfare for the correct airports and correct times that will allow me to do it.
