Your first Disney memory

My earliest memory of Disney was when I was seven years old on my first trip. I was in a Disney Transport Bus and coming up near the Contemporary when I could see the top of the castle for the first time. I will never forget the first time that I could see the centerpiece for one of my favorite places on earth!!! This was during the 25th Anniversary when the castle was decorated as the cake.

Well I can not say I have been to disney when I was 4 like most of you guys said, But When I first went to Disney was in 2004 I was 18, And I can remember those 10 days like it was yesterday. I know I must have been a sad child because I never went at a kid, but I will tell you from the drive over the MK sign to the monorails, buses, DTD all the parks everything is one memory.. and I have been down to the World 3 times in a row hopeing to go back down sometime at the end of the year.

Please dont make fun of me..... lol thanks

My very first WDW memory (at age 10) was walking into the lobby of the Polynesian and being absolutely floored. I had never seen anything so green, lush and tropical before in my little Midwestern life. And though the memory has obviously distorted with time, I could swear there were live birds in the lobby trees.

Other fav memories of the first trip:

Seeing giant turtles on Discovery Island.

Being scared of going into Tom Sawyer's cave because my evil sister told me bats lived inside and would fly into my hair.

Dressing up for the Poly's luau and wearing nylons for the first time.

Humming "Blood on the Saddle" to myself while riding in the front of the Monorail with the driver and my sisters.

Riding the Monorail and seeing a bunch of dirt piled up with a sign saying something about "Future Home of EPCOT". All of us were like "What's an epcot?"

Swimming off the hotel beach and thinking it was the ocean.

Walking on the beach at night and just happening upon the Electric Water Parade. We had no idea that was there. It was such an unexpected surprise -- and still one of my favorite things to see at WDW.

I went in 1973, and I didn't really like much, but the ride I liked best was "If you had wings". I'm not really sure why. I guess all the other rides seemed too "kiddie" and that one had sort of a cool, futuristic, optimistic feel to it.

First memory I have is at just shy of 5 years old. It was near Christmas and I remember my parents wanting me to stand still in front of the hub on Main Street for a picture. Good times.....:animwink:

It was 1975 and I was 3 yrs old. I had a black polka dotted dress on and my parents bought me a pink Minnie sunhat with my name on it. I vaguely remembered Peter Pan. My dad held me for 45 minutes waiting to ride Space Mountain. I remember coming home and asking my dad for years to look at the map. I had to wait 7 more years befoer I went again.

My first trip was in 75'. And some of my first memories are these...

*Walking into Poly and thinking I was in a tropical forest and loving that volcano pool.

*Goofy coming up onto the beach on water skis while we were on the beach at Poly.

*Riding the monorail, looking down at the topiaries along the way and then seeing the Castle.

*Tiki Birds and If You Had Wings.

*Flying over London with Peter Pan.

*The magic shop and Penny arcade on Main Street.

And 2 non-Disney memories but things on the way driving to Disney...

*"Magic Fingers" Bed in the hotel with Mom & Dad.

*All those Pedro signs on the way to South of the Border...and Mom asking my Dad if she needed a passport to drive through...

*Flying over London with Peter Pan.

Oooh, I'd almost forgot about Peter Pan! I was completely freaked the first time I road it. I could see the lower track was running out (I didn't realize there was an upper track) and I thought OMG THE RIDE BROKE! WE'RE GOING TO FALL OFF! My sister felt the need to reinforce that belief knowing full well it was part of the ride to fly. Yes, I was a gullible child. :hammer:

I was a bit more savvy by the time we rode Mr. Toad. I knew the on-coming train had to be a trick no matter what she said. :p

Falling between the platform and the monorail while getting on. I was that small but my mom had my hand and just pulled me back up. :)
