Your Final Farewell!

Let me quote from an old saying. " All good things must come to a end." So last night,my DW and I were talking Disney ( it's usually me talking to myself ) Anyway,the subject came up about this years vacation turnaround.First it was Dubai,but due to unforeseen circumstances,we are off to Andalusia for 10 nights in October.Now 2014 is my DS last year at school and we're not sure if he wants to go to university,nearest one is 100 miles from us.So money is now the factor. So we decided that 2016 ( god willing ) will be our 6th and final WDW vacation. I really can't complain as I know lots of friends who only dream about going on a Disney vacation. But has anyone else planned out their final farewell,their last goodbye,their last goodnight kiss.:c ( Wheres my hankies ) Well that's what we've decided on,so we have just over two years to get that Mickey money into our Disney account..We will probably book PORS as it is our all time favourite,and of course have our ADRS booked for our favourite restaurants.Its the 14th night that I won't be looking forward too,walking out of Main Street USA,and turning around to say Cheerios to Cinderella's castle..So if it was your final hurrah at WDW.What would you plan? Would you stick to your previous trips and do it all over again,or would you add something new,something you've promised to do,but never did.?

I would probably plan all my favorite things and stick with what I love! That is very sad Hatter Hopefully, ina few years things will look a little brighter. Many hugs and pixie dust coming your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's so sad even thinking about a final trip to WDW! All I know is that I definitely would cry on my last day...shoot...probably all the days I was there.

It's not an age thing,it's a money thing..My 5 vacations were taken when I still was working full time.I then opted for a early retirement package ( due to health ) So apart from spending all my cash on Disney vacations.$50000 were spent on a house extension,another $30000 on a new car.. So as much as I love going to WDW..For what we spend on a 14 day vacation,I can get 5 European vacations of 14 nights for the same price..Unless I'am left a fortune by an unknown relative ( that'll be the day ) 2016 will be our farewell vacation..Ive got some great memories,and they last forever.

I treat every trip to WDW as my last because you just never know what will happen. I book ADRs at new places we want to try and at places we know we like,and I do as much as possible and all my favorite rides as much as possible. But if I were to plan a trip that I knew would be my last, I would save enough to be able to extend our trip to somewhere around 14 nights.Stay at our favorite resort,eat at all our favorite restaurants,and just do everything else as much as I can.

oh man... I can't imagine planning my last trip but honestly, it can be hard to financially justify a trip and I'm only coming from Boston. I have to give a lot of props to the Disney fans out in the UK and mainland Europe. Flights are WICKED EXPENSIVE, so I can't imagine having to spend 4000 dollars just to leave my home country (assuming you're traveling with a family) before even seeing a dime of a disney bill.

This is depressing. I have felt this way in the past, but somehow always manage to find my way back. But, I know some day will be my last. It might be "planned", it might not. And yes, I feel like this time is coming for our family, too, as my DS gets closer and closer to college. Just like in UP, I'll still keep my penny jar, and hope I am around when the right time comes. In the meantime, I am going to enjoy and love every moment of our upcoming trip. We have a good mix of new and favorites. And, as always, I'm sure I will have tears on the way back to the airport, and when the ME packet shows up hanging on the door , and my last sight of the castle. OK, I need a hug...I'm going to cry...Why are you so mean Hatter?

I don't think I could ever have a final trip planned unless I knew my demise was around the corner...and then I would probably try to plan it happening while I was there. You could always save money and try just a 7 day vacation instead of a 14.

There's not a huge price difference between 7 and 14 days..
