Sorry meant to copy that quote> but anyways, the beignets ARE the exact ones from Cafe Du Monde!! While in N.O a few years ago we had the opportunity to dine at the original Cafe Du Monde and the Manager there informed us that The only place other than their cafes to get their mix and recipes was at the POFQ bakery.
As an original cast member there I can vouch for that.

You can buy the mix all over the place, so I don't know about the validity of that claim (was the Manager moonlighting as a bus driver?)

in any case, they sure as heck do not have the same consistency, tooth, or mouthfeel. Maybe they are cooking them differently.

It's all in the water :D. You don't know what a bagel IS until you've eaten one from Pick-A-Bagel in NYC.

I don't know about Pick-A-Bagel, but I will put even the worst of the area bagel stores up against what they serve at WDW. Ugh.

I don't even think about asking if they have a bialy.

I really do think the water has something to do with it.

I once stayed at Coronado Springs and enjoyed the Pepper Market. I wasn't that hungry but still wanted something so I got a slice of pepperoni pizza and it came with chips and an orange. It may have been a kid's menu item but I just really wanted a snack and pizza always sounds nice. It was so good. I really wanted to get another slice again but never timed it right.

We just stayed at Art of Animation and were quite pleased with the food court offerings there. In particular, the surf and surf burger was very good.

I have to agree with this. I had the surf and surf burger and the honey almond gelato and enjoyed it tremendously. YUM!

POR pasta bar is my favorite.

I like Sunshine Seasons and Mexico at Epcot.

Goods to Go at OKW is great.

I like the fast food place at AKL, too...but it is t better than anywhere else, really. I just like it.

I love the Art of Animation food court and had the Tandoori Acorn Squash with naan bread and lentils a few times. This may be my favorite food court meal at DW.

What is also great about this place is that the food comes on real plates and with real silverware, which is so much nicer than the plastic and paper you get at most QS restaurants. And they accept Tables in Wonderland! :)

It's definitely the water! My mom will only eat the Sabret (sp?) hot dogs from the vendors in the city and she will tell you it's all in the water.

I also agree that while good the beignets at POFQ do not taste the same as the ones at Cafe du Monde .

On topic - we also enjoy the food court at PORS and Roaring Forks at WL
