Our DD's are 16 & 18, and the FIRST meal we have EVERY trip is Crystal Palace...My mouth is watering for Pooh's French toast right now, and we don't get there until November!

I am not a big breakfast eater, but when I am at Epcot, I like to go to Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in France in the morning (9:00am) for coffee and a pastry. It is usually quiet as the World Showcase typically does not open until 11AM, but this QS opens at 9AM.

For kids, I definitely recommend Whispering Canyon at Wilderness Lodge. Food's tasty and they do a terrific job of making it fun for kids (and grownups). It's a loud, raucous, wacky way to start the morning.

While you don't hear a lot about it, we really liked Fresh Mediterranean Market at the Dolphin. I would say it's a consideration, particularly without kids, because there isn't a character in sight.

Buffet description:

At this bountiful breakfast buffet, enjoy made-to-order omelets or eggs any style, including egg whites and Egg Beaters. All of your favorites—waffles, French toast, hot cereals, bacon, sausage and more—are there as well as health-conscious, detoxifying fruit and vegetable drinks and a rotisserie station featuring rosemary ham. For a lighter start to your day, order a warm bowl of steel cut oatmeal with fresh berries and raisins.

Good part about that is the fact that you get your eggs made hot to order not out of a warming dish, which isn't generally the case at Disney buffets. The non-buffet menu is also a bit larger I think, with more selections than your "normal" Disney line-up.

And you can boat over to Epcot or the Studios if you want after. Kind of makes for a nice morning.

Because it's at the Dolphin, DDP is out. Last couple visits we've been on the plan, so we haven't gone back. We contemplated a return out-of-pocket even though we were on the plan, but that didn't really make sense.

Next time we go "plan-less", I'm sure we'll go back.

Actually, we like Captain Cook's quick server at the Polynesian for a quick and inexpensive breakfast. We generally stay at a monorail hotel, so it's a short walk or ride. They have Tonga Toast and the usual QS breakfast items. What we like is you can take the food outside and find a table under the trees or next to the water. Just like having breakfast in a tropical setting. If you're an early riser you can get the place almost to yourself.

I second...third...fourth...Kona for breakfast. Also a thumbs up for GF Cafe (good special pancakes), Boma has a good buffet - offerings you won't find in others (other than Tusker House in AK). We like The Wave in Contemporary for a solid (under appreciated??) buffet for a resonable (WDW reasonable) price. Or just have a cinnamon roll from Gastons in MK and collapse from sugar crash an hour later.

Also - evidently I like parentheses (())(())(())

Our favorite spot is absolutely NOT the Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie in the France pavilion at EPCOT, first thing in the morning, sitting outside at one of the tables tucked back along the alley with a coffee and a ham and cheese croissant preparing our touring strategy for the day in (relative) peace and quiet.

Nope, no sir. Definitely do not recommend.

Grand Floridian Cafe is for sure a good one, 1900 Park Place totally agree with!, Kona is very good, Ohana is better to the kids :) The Character breakfast at Contemporary is not as good as Park Place.

Took me a second to pick up on the sarcasm in this one, but definitely this...

It's probably only convenient if you're staying in the Boardwalk area as you have to enter thru the International Gateway - but a nearly empty France pavillion, along with some tasty options, is hard to beat

My wife and I are going to WDW at the end of March for a week. This is our 4th trip in a little less than two years and while we've found numerous spots for dinner, we've really only tried (and enjoyed) Olivia's for breakfast. Anyone have any suggestions for a decent to nice breakfast for a couple without kids? Curious to hear from everyone!
So happy you started this thread, I was about to start the exact same thread!! I have all sorts of ideas now!! Thanks!!

The Garden Grill in The Land pavilion in Epcot has a nice character breakfast -

I second that. It's a must for the breakfast alone. And the interactions with the characters isn't too intrusive either. I found it casual and laid back.

Other recommendations:
  • Kona Cafe
  • Grand Floridian Cafe
  • Boma

I can also recommend Kona Cafe and Garden Grill. We did the Garden Grill a couple of trips ago as a throw in and it is now our favorite breakfast spot. The cinnamon roll/sticky bun is AMAZING! As a previous post stated, the character interaction is pretty laid back and we always find it pretty quiet and relaxing. A good way to start the day.

As for the Kona Cafe, it is always consistently good. My wife's favorite is the Tonga Toast. We've never had a bad experience there for breakfast or dinner.

I love breakfast but I am not a fan of food in mornings..except like donuts. Which those big huge donuts with the thick white or pink frosting from that kiosk place right outside of ToT totally calls to me. My favorite thing to do for breakfast if I am staying at an EPCOT resort is go over the Trattoria al Forno restaurant at BWI and get a presspot of coffee all for me. If I happen to eat an early light dinner and go to bed early so that I am up really early then I don't mind having breakfast around 9 or 10. My favorite place for breakfast is Fresh Med at the Dolphin. It's a 20 dollar buffet and it is awesome.
