Young kids and Epcot - is this rumor true??

FYI at Kidcot stations, the cast member from the countries do not keep track of the children. Children come and go as they please from the craft table. The only time I saw any cast member take any notice was in United Kingdom. A small (4 or 5) year old boy was left a the coloring table for an inordinate amount of time. We waited for Pooh pictures and Pooh took a break between sessions. The boy was just sitting there looking around. Finally, a cast member asked him where his parents were . He didn't know. The cast member called security. Later after pictures, we saw security with the parents and the child. They were sitting outside the Rose and Crown pub on the patio enjoying themselves.

That is so scary. My worst nightmare would be losing one of my children. I can't even imagine leaving them alone anywhere in a place as busy as WDW. In this day and age it is just not worth the risk.:(

Our children LOVE the Kidcot Funstops! On our last visit, we got the passport that can be stamped. This year, as a homeschool project, we are creating our own passport book. The crafts are cool and my kids love to talk with the cast members from different countries. We always had at least 1 of us stay with the kids at all times. However, I really enjoyed the interaction as well. We learned a lot of information about the countries that the shows/rides may not have. Epcot is our family's favorite park!! :sohappy:

As far as I know, these are NOT babysitting services!!! It's something that children might enjoy, but parents are supposed to watch (or even participate) They cannot just walk away and leave their children there.

Definitely not a babysitting service but fun for the kids - mine are 6 and 8. Actually, I'm 40 and on our upcoming trip this month, I'm looking forward to creating my own mask and hitting every country in World Showcase. The kids will think I'm nuts but I want to have some fun too!

Last June was our first trip to Disney World. My 4 and 7 year old daughters loved Epcot. It was their favorite place to visit. They loved the different countries and learned alot. We can't wait to go back again in 3 days!
