The doctor has just told you that you only have 24 hours to live. You just happen to be 5 minutes from WDW.

Or, try this on for size.

Due to the economy, they are closing down WDW for good. Never to be opened back up again. You just happen to be 5 minutes from WDW on the last day its open.

How do you spend your last day? What is your itinerary? How do you spend your final hours at WDW? Which parks do you visit? What do you ride? Where do you eat? What shows do you see?

Do you rush around from attraction to attraction? Get in everything you can? Or do you take your time, spend time just soaking up the atmosphere? Walking around slowly? Standing for two hours in front of the castle trying to engrave the image into your brain?

I am interested to see how you guys would spend your last day at WDW.......

Honestly, I'd work on setting my affairs in order. Make sure my will is current and spend the majority of my day with my son telling him how important he is to me and how I want him to move on with his life after I'm gone.

Going to WDW and having fun for myself seems too selfish, there are many useful things I can accomplish for my son's benefit in that precious amount of time.

Woah, jeez.

THAT came outta' left field.

Nice.

Anyways, as much as I love Disney, I'd spend time with my FAMILY, not Theme Parks...

That or going on a 24-hour bloody trail of Revenge to take down the Mastermind of my Demise, guns a'blazing and sword a'slashin, if that's applicable to the situation.

Do I have to go to WDW? It's my favorite place in the world, but there's a few other things to do.

And if I have to go...I go to EPCOT and wander slowly around and drink it all in. I also break into the Imageworks and jump off the SSE Vehicle @ 180 Top to go EPCOT exploring.:lookaroun:lol:

I edited my post. Try that scenario! LOL

As much as I love going to WDW, if I only had 24 hours to live, going to WDW is not how I would choose to spend it. Likewise, if WDW were going to close for good in 24 hours, I'm not sure that visiting it under those conditions would be the best way to do it. I would rather go there maybe a week or so before the last day. But I wouldn't want to be there on the last day itself. It would likely be too crowded and you'd probably encounter a lot of bad attitudes from CMs because they'd know they'd be out of a job soon.

Maybe a better way of expressing this would be to imagine that on your next trip to WDW, you know (for whatever reason) that this will be your last time visiting. And how would you spend it if you only had one day to do it?

For me, I'd probably bypass MK altogether because we still have DL (which is MUCH better in just about every way). I'd start the morning out in DAK and do the Kilamanjaro Safari. Then I'd ride Dinosaur and those would probably be the only two attractions I'd do there. I'd spend about an hour or so just roaming around the park and taking in the ambience. I'd take a TON of pictures too. Then I'd head over to DHS and I'd do the Great Movie Ride, RnRC and ToT. I'd make ToT my last ride before leaving, and I'd ride it like 4 or 5 times. Then I'd head to Epcot and spend the rest of my time there. I'd stay in the park past closing until they kicked me out.

A better question would be, what if you were told you had 6-9 months to live, would to take 1 more trip to WDW with family? Where would you stay, how long would you stay? Would you splurge on the best treatment?

If it was the last 24...I'd pay a ton to get the Adventurers Club to myself and my friends for one last night...but during that day I'd be at Epcot, you'd have to see Figment one last time.

I would go to DAK and do the Kilimanjaro Safari, and the rapids. I would then go to DHS and ride TSMM like 3 times! Do the backlot tour and walk around the whole park! Then go to MK and do buzz lightyear, TTA, Space Mountain, BTMR, SGE(KIDDING!), and probably more and end the day by watching wishes!

Geeez, it's just a question! Don't take it so seriously, just answer it:ROFLOL::lookaroun

Anyway, I'd go to DHS for half a day and ride TSM, RnRC, ToT and some other rides, then go to MK and see Philarmagic and ride Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain then dash back over to DHS and watch Fantasmic!:sohappy:

Since almost no one is playing along, I LOVE this question, and I would in fact be the kind of person who would want to spend his last day in Disney (I'm not even lying, getting my affairs in order or seeing my family, are boring things, its your LAST day the last chance 2 be selfish, n if you family wants to spend time wit u im pretty sure they can take 1 sick day to be with you on your last day. I would....

Start off by waking up in Pop century (I'm ignoring that 5 minute away thing b/c I would actually spend the night before in Pop century). After waking up I would probably be the 1st one on the bus to Animal Kingdom (as of late, we have been taking cars to the parks, but when you take the bus idk it's just different, it's not the monerail, but it's STILL disney-esk). I would hope they would be giving DAK a magic kingdom hour just for me, but even if not I'm gonna....

race over to everest, get fast passes, go 2 Dinosaur, jump on it then hop back to everest, jump on it (back row), then use the fast passes to go on the front row, go over to KRR and KS, and then go back to Dinoland USA get on Primeval whirl and finish my DAK day on Dinosaur. At this point I'm probably gettin hungry, so going and using my safari card at DAK's Rainforest Cafe, get the motzerella sticks and the rumble in the jungle turkey wrap with extra ceasar dressing.

After leaving DAK via bus, we're going bak to pop to get the car and the stuff and move it into the contempory, while my family's doing that I'm gonna take the bus from POP to Epcot (b/c you cant do 3 parks and EVERYTHING you want in 1 day including crouds....ive tried :() get 10 of my FAVORITE desert (Norway's Cloudberry horn), if there is no line ride on the malstrum and SPACE, but thats ALL! If theres even a 1 minute wait, get my cloudberry horns and im out like the pet rock.

Since all my family had to do was take the stuff over to the contemp, and since I probably took advantage of the 0 minute wait on both rides (only 5 minutes but still), they're probably already on there way to DHS. So I decide to take the shortcut, going out the back of EPCOT onto the boardwalk, taking the road behind it and jogging/running to DHS and meeting my fam in front of the park (to save time).

After getting in rusing to Toy Story Mania to get fastpasses then back to the front of the park of ToT and RnRC (5-7 rides on ToT/2 Rides on RnRC, front and back, front last; or until its time to use the fastpasses). Then over to Toy Story Mania, back to ToT for the final time. There really isn't any places to eat that I like in DHS, all of the places are like blaa. I really like the idea behind the Sci-Fi Drive In, BUT it doesnt play full movies, it has like a 30/45 minute loop, and I've seen the same trailers 2x in 1 sitting. I would like it a LOT better if there was full on movies playing, I would probably go there everytime.

Now it's time for the grand finalie, the Magic Kingdom. Like always, gotta start by going to the right, opening up with tomorrowland, monsters inc laugh floor, space mountain fastpasses, buzz lightyear spacespin, go eat at cosmic rays starlight cafe (fav place 2 eat). After that get over to the haunted mansion, both splash and big thunder mountain (or FP for 1 of them), and the jungle cruise. In between any of this, if it's within 20 minutes of the waterpagent parade over seven seas lagoon, im peacing, going to the room, grab some cloudberry horns and chocolate milk, and watching that. After which I'm going to take the monerail back to the park and pick up where I stopped. I'll of course cut into this itenerary for a fireworks show. If there's stil time at the end of the night, I'll go and do laugh floor again, and end the night, and my last day at Disney on space mountain. Walk down mainstreet, go into the ice cream store on the left cornor (sorry I dont remember the name, maybe main street bakery?), grab a sunday (along with everyone else in the park), and go out to the resort monerail. Take my last lap around the track as i slowly enjoy my last ice cream, get off at the contempory, and call it a night after I took my final look at Magic Kingdom.

No offense but I had a friend who took her mom when she was dying of lung cancer and now my friend, dvc owner and lover of all things Disney cannot even bring herself to go back. Time heals all wounds but her Mom loved WDW too and they shared many times there, the last time was very painful. The end was already scripted, no chance to change things, she knew she (and her family) was dying when they all went. She passed away a mere three weeks when after that trip. So, this thread, while meant to make people think, has a very personal ring to many people. Yes, I love WDW but if I was dying I would not go back. People mean more than things and WDW is a thing.
