I know there is several post about the YOAMD going into 2008. I have a question, Is the only new parade this year going to be the Block Party Bash? Was hopeing to see a new parade at MK or something.

I've heard they might import the Dreams parade from Disneyland and possibly a replacement for Spectromagic. But it's unclear whether this will happen during the YoaMD or maybe until 2009.

Was this in a artical somewhere? or just speculation? Does not make much sense why they would bring Disneylands Parade Of Dreams over to wdw and have Disneyland have nothing lol. That would mean they would have to get a new parade. I mean that would be awesome if it happend but, honestly Id be shocked lol. Probably wont happen till 2009 like you said, unfortunatly :(

yup I've heard possibly PoD from DLR or fantillusion from DLRP.... but even better would be an entirely new parade!!!!! but we all know how likely that is.....personally my vote goes to getting PoD :)sohappy:), but Spectro is in much greater need of a replacement than DCT is.... which is sad because spectro is an overall better parade than DCT but oh well, it is literally falling to pieces! fantillusion would be cool, but only if they put everything back that was in it when it was in tokyo- like some of the villians floats and the detachable dresses that the dancers had! If we get a watered down version of the already watered down version from tokyo, I'll be quite unhappy

anyways, I don't think either will be ready for YOAMD, it would probably be after it is over. Plus, they probably don't want to take away from the opening of BPB

Another Year of Dreams to Come!

2007 has seen families entering a fairy-tale realm within the Magic Kingdom to spend a night living like princes and princesses. It's found Guests throughout the Disney Parks gifted with surprises big and small as part of the Disney Dreams Giveaway - from custom trading pins to cruises to Europe, from a DREAM FASTPASS badge that cuts the wait time for some of the most popular Disney attractions to a personal chat with a Disney Princess. This year has truly seen the magic of Disney come alive for Guests at Disney Parks as never before.
Well, 2007 is winding to a close in a few short months - but happily, the dreams will keep coming true! The Walt Disney Company has announced that The Year of a Million Dreams will continue through 2008, with all-new dreams to be granted (as well as many continuing favorites) as part of the new 2008 Disney Dreams Giveaway*. Faron Kelley of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts told us what's coming: "We have some great surprises, including the roll out of wonderful new attractions and entertainment in both...

... California and Florida, and a million new dream prizes that will be awarded across both Resorts." These new prizes include a very special new experience at Disneyland that is resurrecting one of Walt Disney's own dreams for the Park. Faron is "global project development director" - and, as he explains it, "Basically, that means I'm the celebration guy!" And he says that the new plans have been in the works for about half a year, although they've been kept tightly under wraps until now. "After the six months for The Year of a Million Dreams, we said 'This is really something that's just too good to take away.' We wanted to give a longer chance to more of our Guests to experience it," he explains.
"Some dream prizes will be brought back by popular demand, such as the one-of-a-kind Mickey Mouse ears, which have been redesigned a little bit; the Dream FASTPASS badge, which has been wildly popular item; and the limited-edition pin and lanyard set, also redesigned for the celebration. We'll also continue with $500 shopping sprees, some fun dining experiences, and with the one-night stay in the Cinderella Castle suite.
One prize that is not returning, however, will be replaced by something that is sure to have Disney fans buzzing. "We're not going to be continuing the Mickey suite in California, because we have a brand-new surprise that's coming in - the development of the Disneyland Dream Suite, which will give Guests on most nights the opportunity to stay overnight inside Disneyland Park," Faron reveals. "The Disneyland Dream Suite is being built specifically for The Year of a Million Dreams. It's going to be in what was once the Gallery in New Orleans Square. That space, amazingly enough, was originally intended by Walt to be an apartment for family and friends. Walt had his own apartment on Main Street, but he wanted a larger space where family and friends could stay when they visited the Park. It was never brought to fruition, but working with Walt Disney Imagineering we found the original plans that Walt Disney himself had commissioned, and those renderings are being used as inspiration for the development of the Disneyland Dream Suite!"
In addition to the prizes, The Year of a Million Dreams will see some exciting new attractions and entertainment at both Resorts in 2008. Look for "Toy Story Mania!, an amazing new attraction opening this summer at Disney-MGM Studios in Florida and Disney's California Adventure. It's a ride-through Toy Story competition inspired by Disney*Pixar's 'Toy Story' films," Faron explains. "It has some wonderful effects - in addition to keeping score for you as you interact with the attraction, it's done in 3D so you wear 3D glasses as you ride through using your spring-action shooter as you aim at targets, It's a very immersive experience for the entire family."
Also, in spring 2008, look for Block Party Bash to leave Disney's California Adventure and make its way across the country to Disney-MGM Studios. The new Pixar Play! Parade will open at Disney's California Adventure. At both Disney-MGM Studios and Disney's California Adventure, Playhouse-Disney Live on Stage! will have a whole new cast of characters and a new show beginning in the spring.
Isn't a year normally 365 days? Sure - but for the dream-makers at Disney, anything is possible, and with the new prizes and surprises coming your way, we're betting that Guests will not be complaining about this two-year-long Year of far more than a Million Dreams.

*snicker* There is no way that the Parade of Dreams could ever be performed by WDW cast members

wow that's a little harsh! the sad thing is that there really is a lot of talent down in florida, but they just are getting the right people trained in things. The politics of it all are too ridiculous- there aren't very many people that are trained in just one thing. They train the same people in everything. And those people aren't neccessarily the best dancers, performers, or animators, they're just the ones that know the right butts to kiss. There are some really good CPs that come in and out of there (and yes, I know I know- "it makes no sense to train the CPs because they're just gonna leave again".... I've heard it a million times, and gotten yelled at for getting trained when I was a CP by disgruntled FT who didn't have a graceful bone in their body but still thought they should get trained over me.....) that and when the performers that are trained are doing 100 parades/shows in one day, then the performance quality does definitely die....

and as for whoever said that would leave disneyland without a parade, there are rumors of them getting a new one..... of course they get new, and WDW gets the hand-me-downs!

So, is that "100 parades/shows in one day" before or after the 40 minutes of break for every 20 minutes on stage? Because, the hardest working people in entertainment don't put out more than 4 to 6 shows per day. There are a number of people in Entertainment who genuinely work hard, and put their heart and soul into what they do (hi Ashley!) but, in my previous years of working in WDW, I saw too many instances of poor work ethic among entertainment cast

wow it didn't take much to get you going did it?!?! where did you work when you were there?? Yes, there are plently of people in ent who only halfheartedly do their job.... but there are many more who put blood, sweat, and tears into it every single day. And when you are cast in 3 different parades, plus doing sets in between, plus having rehearsals all night, sleeping for an hour in the warm-up room, and then doing it all over again... it can feel like 100 parades in a day. Since I was a CP my schedule never got to that point, but I saw many people who were over 80 hrs a week of just straight parade, show, parade, rehearsal repeat.

A Theater Major who DID it gladly day in and day out for almost 4 years. Now I'm going back out on tour with Trans Siberian Orchestra. You can only perform a show so many times before it becomes routine. RIP Tarzan, Epic NY Street, Doug, Hunchback, Millionaire, and Bear. Although I'm can't watch Fantasmic! anymore because of knowing what it was when it first opened.

and there are many people who truly do love it and don't complain.... but your body can only physically handle that for so long before it just can't do it anymore....I saw some super good performers who absolutely loved what they were doing just get completely burned out... its sad.

disneyland performers on the other hand, are only cast in a few (if not only one) thing- and they have to audition for each parade/show they want to learn- so they only have maybe a few things that get their full energy and concentration
