The What: Details to follow.

The When: September 16th-21st. We’re pretty locked into these dates since we are flying for this trip. This will be the rare bubble visit where vacation creep does not play a role like just about all others have for us in the past.

The Where: We’ve got ourselves some banked Poly points so why not burn through those! 5-nights at the Poly will be our longest stretch at the resort and we couldn’t be more excited! Typically we’ve only visited for a single night before or after a cruise.

The Why: 19 years of marital bliss, of course! What better way to earmark an occasion than visiting the house that the mouse built!

More details to follow!

Reader feedback time!!!

Rather than start a new thread I'll just ask the folks that follow us and know what we like. So....what would you choose for the first week of April?

Saratoga Springs standard room
Caribbean Beach King bed room
Coronado Springs standard room

Details: We've never stayed at CBR or CSR but have done SSR a few times and really enjoyed it.
Pros? Cons? Your pick?

Thanks for the feedback!

If there were no construction going on, I would go with the King bed room at CBR. However, at this point, we don't know what the status of the construction will be at either CBR or CSR. You may have a brand new CenterTown at CBR, or you may have to eat in a tent.

To be safe, I would book at SSR and keep an eye out on the construction status in case you wanted to switch.

I'm going to go with SSR and only because of the vicinity of Disney Springs. If park time is going to be sparse then I think evening strolls to DS for drinks and something to nibble would be ideal. (just wanted to use the word nibble). There were so many options there. J and I failed DS. We only got drinks at Art Smith's, but it was delicious!

My other choice would be CSR. They have a great pool, or so I've read, and I believe the pool is free of construction. It seems like I just read a report on here regarding some one staying there recently and they had no problems at all.

Let me know if all those points start to be a burden. I'll help take them off your hands. :D

Now that it's over, here's a brief summary of my thoughts on this trip:
- Flying was fine. The fuel thing got me, but I rationalized my way through it. Still better than driving.
-
- The American Adventure still gets me. Every. Single. Time. The Challenger Disaster, 9/11...ugh.

Until next time.

AA makes me cry too-big tears. Glad you had a positive experience flying-heck it still makes me nervous every time, but I am high anxiety to begin with. I had fun following along and thank you for sharing !! :)

My vote would be for SSR.
1)So many Pools and Poolbars to choose from.
2)My Hidden Gem,The Turf Club, even better if still doing a Passholder Discount.
3)Close to Disney Springs.
And
4) Thanks for posting your Cat in the Box Pic:cat:.

Well, the Disney Visa discount decided for us. I read on these forums of a Disney Visa discount (up to 25% or 35% - can't remember) off room-only rates. Color me intrigued. Going through Disney, the published discounts put SSR, CBR, and CSR at about the same price. I decided to call Disney to ask about this mysterious, non-published discount.

I must say, that automated system is a bit of a PITA. The first song on hold was the ender from The American Adventure. Cue tears. I tried three different times at work. I could only hold for 15 minutes. Boo.

So then I tried again on my way to my next job. I finally got through after only a few minutes. I ask the CM about this discount. She had to look it up. Sure enough...it's a REAL discount. She's going through what it doesn't cover (monorail resorts and AoA LM rooms). I was sure Spring Break would not be included in the deal.

First things first...I asked about AKL. The only room type left was concierge for a very reasonable price of $5,000. Lol no.

I then asked about Saratoga Springs. Only 1-bedroom there as well and a few hundred dollars more than what we wanted to spend.

Finally, I asked about CBR. There was availability for a king bed room and it was about $100 less than Disney's online price with a discount. I had to put down a deposit to hold the room, no courtesy holds on these reservations. I didn't have time to reserve, so S called and reserved.

TL;DR - we're going to CBR for Spring Break! DD is going to Washington, DC, so it's just the two of us!

We really enjoyed our stay at CBR last January (although nothing but offsite to compare to). We were in Barbados (which is no longer standing) which everyone said was SO far away from everything and terrible transport and blah blah negativity but it's not that far from the food court. We were last pick up on the bus and first or second drop off so we were very happy with that (better than being first pick up and having to stop 6 more times). There was never anyone in the quiet pools when we walked by and lots of space and seating at the bigger pool as well. Hope it's good for you and hopefully there will be some good improvements with the construction going on by that time!

Saratoga Springs rooms are nasty..
We've stayed there three times and didn't experience any nastiness. We actually prefer SSR over BWV, not a popular opinion I know.

Translation: stayed once and it wasn’t perfect.

Sorry, I’m being an instigator. That’s like an alligator but not in an alley.:bored:
Mmmmm, instigation. I like pushing buttons, just ask some of my WDWMagic acquaintances ;-) :D

Thanks for the feedback! We're excited to try something new. I'd equate that Barbados feedback to the folks that claim AKL is soooo far from everything it's like being off property...

We stayed at CBR in August for 4 nights in Trinidad North. We were the building closest to the main pool. I'd say that as long as you aren't planning meals for CBR, then it's perfectly fine. It's still nice to walk the paths, swing in a hammock on the beach and swim in the pools.
Thanks! Well, we're booked for Spring Break week now at CBR. I foresee us doing some dining at DDT, few resort restaurants, and we have to break in BaseLine Tap House, of course we will probably break that in over Christmas week.

Now we need to source some air fare!

CBR feels the most "at home" for us, although we haven't been during the construction. If Mike the bartender is still around, stuck in a trailer bar or something, he's the best. I go there just to get a drink and a pulled pork sandwich with Caribbean relish (a variation of which I think is still available.)

I enjoy the walks, not worried about "too far" or whatever.
