Yeti Placing wrong?

i agree that would be scary but the point of only seeing him briefly is to show that really no one has proof of seeing him and people claim that have gotten quick glimpses of him plus i love his arm swinging down at everyone

I love how you basically get two completely contradictory explanations of the Yeti on these boards. On one hand, people describe the Yeti AA as being so "advanced" and "impressive". On the other hand, they describe it as "great storytelling" that you only see the Yeti for half a second, because it's supposed to make you wonder what you just saw. If you see it so fast that you wonder what you just saw, then how can anyone truly say they've had time to assess how "sophisticated" it looks? It just seems to me that you can't have it both ways. I think people are just making excuses for why Disney placed the Yeti where they did. I think the real reason was financial. By only showing us a brief glimpse, they didn't have to make the Yeti that impressive. Look at the witch in the Great Movie Ride, for example. Now that is an impressive AA figure. And why can I say this? Because the ride vehicles in GMR don't go flying past the witch so fast that you can't even tell what you just saw. It actually stops so you can watch the figure move. Everest stops too (twice), but for some reason they decided not to use this great opportunity to showcase their supposed "sophisticated" AA figure. Doesn't make sense.

I believe they do, they go in depth with the audio-animatronics and there's a few numbers mentioned in the program about how long it takes to program and such. If you're used to the "normal" and original audio-animatronics then you can understand why I and lots of others are impressed with the Yeti.

It seems to me that if the Yeti is that impressive, then you shouldn't have to possess some deep knowledge of AAs in order to be impressed with it. Maybe that's why you and others ARE impressed with it, as you say. It's not so much what you can actually tell by seeing the Yeti on the attraction. But rather, what's impressive is knowing all the "behind the scenes" stuff. I guess that's why I was referred to the "making of" documentary in order to fully appreciate it. Forgive me, but I think good showmanship is when you are impressed by something without having to see a documentary on all the technology, etc, that went into making it. The presentation should speak for itself.
