Ok, here we go...

Everything you ever wanted to know about PAL Mickey

Its a talking and very ineteractive 10.5 inch Mickey doll, set to hit the Resorts in April, then the Theme parks in May. He can say hundreds and hundreds of different things, such as show details, Disney trivia, atraction heights, fairy tail stories, tell jokes all specific to the attractions you are near at the time. He will vibrate when he has something to say, then by pushing his buttons, he will talk. 8$ a day to rent, 50 to buy.
Here are some examples....at ToT...."that creepy-looking building up ahead is the, uh, hollywood t-t-t-tower hotel, otherwise know as the tower of terror! Nothing to see there, though, except 13 stories of sheer screamin terror....Gee, im glad im not 40 inches tall, cause they wont even let me in the door. Heh heh, nope cant get near the place!

Fort Willderness Resort and Campground rehab

140 redesigned, rustic-themed signs throughout the resort, including the main entrance one (with the new logo on it, featuring the tower at pioneer hall) have been placed throughout the resort. Upgrades at the Reception Outpost, Meadow TradingPost, Bathrooms, all being done to upgrades this 31 year old resort. No word on River Country, though, it has been left out of the rehab. No closures to any part of the resort wile this is being done.

Disney Instutute programs will reamin, after SS opens next year.
these programs are targeted at professional-devolopement for groups and buisness.

Disney recals 40000 Woody dolls, due to the fact that the buttons can come to easily, and become a chock hazard. No injuries to date, but they are just being safe.

Epcot Center Blvd to be close to inbond traffic on March 24th at 6pm till the 25th (am). This is part of the Bridge damage construction that is still ongoing.

Magic Kingdom CUTBACKS for next week. Jungle Cruise to open at 10am and riverboat to open at 11am. Also, El Pirata till be closed from March 16th to april 10th, due to cutbacks. Aunt Polly's will be closed thill April 11th.

MAGIC KINGDOM VERY BUSY LAST WEEK. MK extended there park hours by 60 min on wed, thur, fri, and today, sat. This is due to the larger then expected crowds. The crowds are at the original prodictions and are about average for this time of year, BUT wdw expected alot less, due to the WAR, and in fact, we have been about 10-25% ABOVE projections. In fact, they have been giving out OVERTIME agian, to help make up for cutbacks in staffing and park hours. No word yet on if they will extend park closing this weeks as well.

Disney Security beefed up in Backstage area's and roads. They have placed Jersey Barriers up at all Entrances to the Parks backstage roads, to limit the flow of traffic to one lane, so ALL vehicals can be inspected on the way in and out. Extra CM's at these locations as well. All CM's out of custume MUST have there WDW ID showing now, when backstage. And Security CM's are checking.

FORBIDEN Mnt. For those who didn't catch it last week, i noticed those oil catcher things, that the put in water near construction sites, in the water near the propossed area.
BTW, the walls up near the path into Kali are more then lickly unrelated to the new Attraction OR the new bridge. It just isnt in the right place to be anything important.

RnR Coaster problems!!! Major technical difficulties this week. In fact, RnR DID NOT EVEN open on Thursday, and was closed for most of the day on tuesday and wed. Anyone know any more??

BIG THUNDER MOUNTAIN REHAB!!!!......word on the streets is a 2 to 3 month long rehab starting in AUGUST. This is unconfirmed, but the rumor has been around for along time now. Ill post more when I here more.

well thats about all i got for this week......

PS GREAT NEWS ON FM at DAK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the great update! :) We usually always stay at FW in our motor home when we go down (its my favorite "resort", in fact. It is absolutely great there!) When we were there at Christmas they had construction walls around one of the main entrance signs. I didn't know they were going to change the logo.

One quick question, does the new logo still have Mickey on it in addition to the pioneer hall tower? If anyone has photos of the new signs (especially the one at the main entrance), could you please post them? I greatly appreciate it! Thanks :)

Yeesh! It had even more problems today. I don't know the details, but some people mentioned it to me while I was stuck with them on ToT (got to be evac'd through the 5th Dimension with work lights on, yay!).

At one point, there was a posted wait time of 105 minutes, though I don't know if it was related to the downtime. Maybe it's just time for a rehab? When was its last one?

Where would you keep your PAL mickey while on a ride??

ToT, Coaster, and a couple other rides are the only ones you couldn't hold it in your hand. The rougher rides either put it in your bag or in a pouch or something.

interesting question. i guess it could be an issue on rides like splash mt. where it could potentially get very wet.

the solution i expect to see, 10" Yellow Mickey ponchos available at all merch locations. (j/k of course)

Disney would be better off just trying to fix it on their own...

i don't know about the evenings, but you're right, it was closed indefinately for a while about a year and a half/two years ago...somewhere in there. it's quite a depressing site in that area when they close that eatery down.

I would just to say your all welcome to all of you who thank me for doing these updates, not only this time, but everytime. Knowing that it is a greatly appreciated part of the Forum motivates me do try to do one every week, or more. My sources are all very good, and most are OFFICIAL WDW puplications such as, Eyes and Ears, the CM weekly newspaper, Tell-A-Cast, a small pocket size handout that they give out to CM every week, The Cast Portal, a Cast Members internet site WITH TONS OF INFO, and up to the min, also from talking to reliable CM's, such as Guest Service Managers and Maintance and even high seniority full timers. I try not to beleive anything I hear from new CM's or ones that I dont know. But one of my best ways to find out whats going on is to FLY over the parks in an airplane, and YES you still can do that, as long as you are ABOVE 3000 ft. I can really see the ''big picture'' on new projects and construction this way. But my BEST source is from simply walking around the parks, and in some cases, going backstage to check something out further. However, we are not promited to enter areas that under construction or that are being rehabed, so I would not want to lose my job over it.

So anyway thank you for thanking me!
:)

i just spoke to a friend of mine who is an attractions cm at RnR and when i asked her what was happening to RnR, she replied 'it's dying'.
as of yesterday it was still having problems. apparently the problems are within the computerized control system and is difficut to troubleshoot. She confirmed that the coasters designers have come in to work on it, though she beleived that they were from the netherlands, not france, as my idiot room mate had told me.

That makes more sense, as Vekoma is Dutch.

I wonder if the RnRC in Paris is going to go through the same thing down the line.
