!! Right, here’s the rules....

Avoid emotive language
Avoid flaming
Avoid getting personnel

Now Ill begin,

In the many threads currently doing the rounds the under lying trend appears to be highly passionate so lets keep that under control and a step at a time say what changes you would find acceptable to Epcot. Please try and avoid being to complex and keep to the main points mr Hills article has raised.
To kick off heres my little piece..

Name change. Couldnt care less its a name. As long as the name evokes a feeling as to the attractions in that area does it matter if it changes.

Trees. I lived in London for 9 years and think a more natural look might be astetically pleasing. Its diffrent but not un welcome.

Coasters. The rainforest one IMHO would fit fine providing it is resources properly. After all couldn’t you still have a beastly at AK with different themeing.

SE. I would like the attraction to maintain the existing essence but realise that the ride system and audio need major repairs. If the new ride were of the standard of the present I would still weep its demise but applaud the new arrival.

Maze. Sorry but this is the sort of thing you have in a stately home. It would require to be that little bit more magical if it is to be true Disney.

Anyway thats enough for me.

Thanks for your advice ill be sure to follow it. Is it ok if I post on any other subject or do I have to clear it with you first?

If you read it you may see I was trying to limit responses to things people may have found acceptable about change. You may also be aware that because of enflamed tempers some people are not reading the other threads.

So in future can you please try and be civil.

After reading Jim Hill's article on Project Gemini, I am all for it. It sounds excellent, and hopefully will solve most of Epcot's problems. What I don't want to happen, is for Epcot to get one extra attraction, then in a few years have Jim Hill write about "What the original plan for 'Mickeys garden area' was "!!!!

The other thread this could have fit into was getting to be too many pages long, and really this IS a different topic, becasuse Happy is curious to know what we all wouldnt mind out of that article...the other thread was more about people objecting.

anyways

I like that they arent planning to change UOE. umm... I think I also like the "soarin'" theaters... Im still a little bit unclear as to what the actually are, but from what i do know...they sound aok to me

I don't like all of the changes, but some would benefit the park. I Don't like the idea of adding so many trees. Maybe just trees on the right side of FW to go along with the rain forest coaster, which i think is a good idea. I also like the idea of adding a Soarin' attraction.

I'm split on Spaceship Earth. I hate to see it go, but it has been the same for over 20 years and the time racers idea intrigues me. But what if, Spaceship Earth somehow remained a non-thrill attraction.

My idea would be to incorporate the changes outside of Spaceship Earth, and for SE, they could build an all-new omnimover ride. new cars, new track and system, and a new ride theme. I was thinking about this the other day and I thought it could be a trip to the future, but then i realized how Horizons-like that would be, and I figured Disney wouldn't do it since they just closed that attraction.

Overall, I'll be sad to see the old Epcot go, and I will try to experience it as much as possible before any changes, but I think some of the changes will do wonders for the Park.

I don't mind the trees if they'll immediately remove them if I don't like them. Same goes for the roller coaster.

Otherwise I CAN'T WAIT FOR CHANGE at Future World. I'm excited at the prospect of Project Gemini. (Which will probably have to wait for Mr. Blix to finish his [edit] game of hide and seek.) I hope they come up with a better NEW name between now and then. Let's have a contest here at WDWMagic and present them with our top-rated idea.

Oh, and Happy Snapper I know you won't ever follow anyone's advice so don't say you will.

It's gonna be a mess during the construction. Such major changes and ride shut-downs and plywood covered with pictures of Disney characters all over the place.

I don't think I'll wanna be there during the construction -- except to take digital pictures and post them on WDWMagic. But there's already enough people doing that.

I think the tree idea sounds very good. Sort of like the commercials they usually run during the Flower and Garden Festival when there are all sorts of greenspace behind Spaceship Earth. If it's like that, it should be beautiful. As for the attractions. I do like the Little Mermaid overlay for Living Seas, the Soarin' attraction in the land and some sort of other attraction for Test Track more geared to the family. Wouldn't mind seeing any of these become reality.
