...to satisfy the growing number of people looking for thrill rides, i think the revenue side of the books would explode if one were to replicate the old amusement parks such as Coney Island or Palisades Park, et al., complete with the highest technological advances but with the theme of yesteryear...

Yes, I would want Yesterland so I could ride some of my past favorites like Horizons again. But, if it was a choice between Yesterland and high quality new rides, I'd be more in favor of the new rides.

Exactly..a lot of these rides failed for a REASON....

I personally could do without a few of the "old" rides....Dreamflight (oh as if Buzz isnt TOTALLY better than that ever was), Captain EO (Sorry...not a big fan), and a few othes ;)

I have to agree. While the idea of bringing back some old attractions that were loved while they were around, nothing is ever better the second time around. Better to have the good memories of yesterday, than try to recreate the same ones. Times change, but just be thankful we've had the chance to experience the old along with the new. :)

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

I have an idea, what about a kind of walkthrough attraction that would have photos and parts of all retired rides? Kind of a memorial/historical place. That would be so cool. Then you could relive memories, whatever they were and would not risk dissapointing a past positive memory. Plus this plan would not take up so much park space or $$.

cindy rella...

thats a really good idea! It could have some of the props and sets from each ride. Just imagine how cool the gift shop would be too :p :sohappy:

Seeing as I only miss one of the dead attractions (Journey Into Imagination)...I wouldn't. This park would not make much money if it consisted of attractions that were unpopular before they died...by the way, disney will never build another skyway...the original was a complete nightmare--the lines were obscene and it had to close if there was even a chance of inclement weather approaching, as it took 20 minutes to evacuate this ride. Disney would not put itself through that again. They built the Skilift at Blizzard Beach b/c it's short and easier to evacuate if need be--but even it constantly shuts down...but people needed another way to get up that mountain anyway...the stairs is a DOG...I was about ready to pass out the first and only time I ever took the stairs...regardless, they figured an escalator wouldn't fit in an an elevator would be a capacity nightmare...so we got the Ski Lift...but, again, disney will not build another Skyway...as for the other attractions...imagine how bad it would make Eisner look if he approves the construction of attractions he helped to ax...it'd make him a hypocrite. Imagineers would not be too pleased with replicating attractions already created either...they like to have fun designing and building NEW attractions...I just don't see it happening...I'd rather get $100,000,000+ new E-Rides...
