I think is is a great and much needed addition to DAK.

I love the atmosphere and themeing. I very much enjoyed the food. I had the pot stickers for an appetizer and they were very good. For lunch I had the duck and it was amazing. My partner had the ribs and they were very good as well.

I thought the pricing was fair for being in a theme park.

I was suprised by the food as Y & Y is owned by the same company as Rainforest and T-Rex. I think both are horrible.

We ate there last year, and though my husband and I were willing to pass it up this year, my son insisted that we return. We got 3 different entrees among the 3 adults, and I chose the worst one. :( My mom got the egg rolls which were fantastic! She also got the Mahi Mahi, which was one of my favorites. I got the lettuce wraps and some sort of orange chicken dish...both were subpar compared to a PF Changs. My husband got wings and I can't remember his entree but it was good. The ice cream plate was the best dessert.

I do remember that the service was quite slow, but the theming was really cool! We liked the atmosphere. Overall not a bad experience, but not one that I dream about like I do with Kona Cafe, Tony's Town Square, or Whispering Canyon Cafe.

I agree...the rainforest is awful. I seriously haven't ever gotten anything there I enjoy. But the Aquarium restaurant, owned by the same company, is wonderful! Too bad ours in Nashville closed after the flood destroyed it.

While I absolutely love disney dining and their chains. It is just TOO EXPENSIVE for the amount of food you get. The exception being the buffets - though, I have not had very great experiences at the buffets.

I never went to Y& Y. But I will talk about the Rainforest Cafe - this past November, I spent $60 just on myself. I had wings and a burger and 1 drink. While the ambiance is nice it is not worth it.

If you have a rental car, it is must nicer to go outside Disney. There are cheaper delicious resturants!

Yak and Yeti

:king:
Does anyone have any opinions about Yak & Yeti TS? I'd love to hear about it.

:xmas:It's one of the regular stops on our yearly adventure to WDW. It's a tradition that we finish our vacation, usually the last "sit down" meal at WDW before we head back to the resort to pack up for home. Our son and daughter in love tried it on their honeymoon and strongly urged us to eat there. I especially love the monks tea, (lightly jasmine with a great after taste) and the wanton dessert is one that you need to order more than one of to share. It's as my daughter puts it, "to die for" :sohappy:

Not fond of it. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was great but we found the food to be overpriced (even by Disney standards) average Asian food. It was, for the most part, a Wok n Roll in a fancy package with a price tag to match.

I like it a lot -- with some caveats...

I agree that Rainforest Cafe is horrible, and T-Rex is HORRENDOUS....

But that isn't the case at Y&Y....

The food is upscale asian, and it's very well prepared, well-spiced, and a terrific addition to DAK's dining choices. I've now eaten there three times, and each meal has been terrific.

The service is very good - the servers here really know the menu inside and out, and they can help you make good choices, and even suggest suitable substitutions where needed for dietary needs. They are not your run-of-the-mill kids working in a theme park restaurant servers.

The caveat -- the meals are probably the smallest I have had at a "standard" sit-down restaurant in any of the Disney theme parks. Granted, Asian restaurants usually serve portions that are too large, but here, the opposite is true -- you really DO want to have an appetizer along with the regular entree, otherwise you will feel like you spent a pretty good sum on a very small meal...

My family ate there for the first time last year.. We always passed it by since it opened but finally decided to give it a try.

Thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely keep on our to visit again.
Cook staff stopped by and assisted with menu since I have an MSG problem.

He pointed out what was available and answerd all our questions.

Worth giving a try - you may enjoy it. Don't be concerned about the prices - everything at WDW is overpriced. Those who have issues with that should just get over it.

The Yak and Yeti is EPIC! Great Food. Especially the Lo Mein there. The Decor also made me feel like I was in Nepal almost.

T-Rex concerned I'm not a big fan of it the server we had seemed like an arrogant (insert profane word here.) It was also too noisy and really cold. Food seemed like what I could get at any sports bar. Not Impressed.

Definitely not my favorite place to eat. We ate there for lunch a few trips ago, Not bad, but nothing to write home about that is for sure. I was more impressed with the decor of the place then the food.

Yak & Yeti - not impressed. A menu in search of a cohesive theme. Sub-par food. Poor service. It panders to the "I like fried, sweet, or fried sweet things" crowd.

Rainforest - Bleah

T-Rex - Tolerable. A step up from Rainforest. Not fine dining by any means, but I got what I expected.

My dad still brings up their ribs, and chance he gets, and we were there almost 3 years ago. Apparently they are really good.

We have eaten there twice now for lunch and no complaints. It's not fine dining or anything real special but I just think it's a great dining option for the park. I also really liked the Mahi Mahi.

HOW DO YOU THINK RAINFOREST IS HORRIBLE?:eek:

I agree with Rainforest being horrible as well. I have eaten at Rainforest several times and have NEVER had a good meal there, mostly gross. The only reason we go is because of the theming for the kids, they love it. We'll be trying TRex next trip, I hope it's better. But again, it's always a meal sacrifice for the atmosphere.

Ate at Yak and Yeti last year for lunch. Loved the decor, enjoyed the food, and had a great server. I'm looking forward to going back again this year.

You're a master of the obvious. Of course it's cheaper off property.
But Cmon, many of us don't want to travel all the way to Disney World and then leave property for a "cheaper" restaurant.
Dining within the World is a HUGE part of many people's trips.
The thought of getting in a rental car and leaving the magic to save a few bucks is appalling.

For the record, I'll take the Rainforest or T-Rex any day over Yak and Yeti.
All have average food, but T-Rex and Rainforest go way beyond with their theming. Which appeals to some of us adults as much as the kids.
