Yak and Yeti opening timeframe

No, most likely November. Have you seen what the building looks like, at least 3 months away from just the building being finished.
i HAVE seen what the building looks like. About 30 minutes ago actually. It can DEFINATELY be done in time. Work has progressed VERY quickly over the past few weeks. Like I said before, 2nd floor up and windowed and walled, the exterior of the building is now being put up, all of the kitchen equipment has been moved in and is being set-up today.

EDIT: The roof tiles look cool!

How about:

The Hoark and Yeti
The Hurl and Yeti

Was there on May 28th. I thought there was no way they would be open by October. Just looked like too much left to do.

I call it the "Puke and Hurl" in regular conversation. Keeps things interesting. :)

I can't wait to see it open. I'll have to head over to AK in the next few days to check out the progress.

I can't wait for the place to open. It looks like it will fit right in with the Asian/Tibetan scenery. I guarantee the place will be a big hit, and it will be great to have another sitdown restaurant in Animal Kingdom. At the rate construction is progressing, I'd say that October 8 opening sounds right on track.

You mean a sitdown restaurant not another. This will be the first inside AK except for Donald's Breakfastasaurus which will be gone soon.

When I hear the word Yak I think of this...

Not this...

Actually, I think just the opposite!

Food is a culinary adventure.
Like exploring the far reaches of the universe or the depths of the sea.

One should welcome new experiences and revel in the variety.

And always get fries with it.
"Two Big Yaks and and a large order of fries, please."

Every time we passed by the construction on this trip, my DS made jokes about the name. "Yak'n Yeti," he calls it.

I had my doubts that it could be done by October when I first saw it, but they seemed to make a heck of a lot of progress on it while we were there (two-week span). Granted, I'm no construction expert, so YMMV. I'm hoping all goes well so I can visit in late October.

Can't wait for some barbecued Yak and fried Yeti.

Eww! :hurl:
I'm not fond of the name either. It makes me think of Mongolian barbecue-style restaurants, which I'm not fond of. Those yak are sooooo cuuuuute! But why would anyone put Yeti in the name? In the name of humanity, WHY??

I think the name had to be connected with Nepal/Tibet somehow.

Maybe they could have called it "The Frozen Buttocks", or "The Mile High Club", or "The Deli Lama", or "The Sherpa Shack", or something like that.

I like the Yak & Yeti name. I would have never thought of hurling as the Yak part until it was mentioned on here.

They are two animals from the mountains in Asia.

Anyone know if there will be some great views of E:E from some of the windows or anything? Sounds like it's going to be a great restaurant!!
