Yacht or Beach Club?

I don't think there is a "better" here. I have stayed at both several times and both are pretty much the same. I LOVE Epcot so I am partial to Beach because it is closer to walk to. YC has a slight bit of an adult atmosphere in the lobby but who hangs out in the lobby? BC definitley has more kids so if you are not traveling with any you may like YC better but to me it really is a toss up. The pool and the proximity to Epcot is what makes these two awesome. I would stay in a tent to be in this area and still love it!

I think they are basically the same, except for a couple of small things: 1) the room decor is more floral at BC, and more nautical at YC; 2) BC is a little closer to Epcot; and 3) every room at YC has a full balcony, while many at BC have just a tiny, one-person balcony. I have only stayed at BC, which was great, but we had the tiny balcony:(. Either way, make sure you stop at Beaches and Cream for a burger and some dessert!

We love the Yacht! We've stayed at the both and frankly we had a horrendous time at the Beach. The MGR we wound up dealing with moved us to the YC and she told us that she had to split time between the Yacht and Beach as they worked on improving the level of service there.

Location at both can't be beat!

Beach Club is slightly less formal and (to us) a little more welcoming, but you'll love either one I'm sure! We had a ground floor room just along from the Market place, looking across to the Boardwalk ... great each a.m. to run along for fresh pastries and sit out on our patio; with squirrels and ducks; for breakfast!

You ate squirrels and ducks for breakfast?!

I know food is expensive in WDW, but... jeez.

We prefer the Yacht club - it is a bit more formal/nautical themed and seems quieter to me. Not sure why but the BC side always seems a little louder/rowdier to us. The lobby just isn't as relaxing but still nicely themed. The Beach club is closer to Epcot and has the little store for food items/gelato, etc, though, which is nice.

Either side you pick, you'll be happy. Great location, great pool (we actually always end up in the quiet pool at the YC because it's usually empty) and we've always had good service at the front desk and restaurants.

I've stayed at both and I prefer the Beach Club. First and foremost I love the breakfast/lunch offerings at the store at BC. The salads are the best! YC doesn't have anything like this so you have to walk to Beach Club for it. It's not the longest walk in the world or anything, but when I'm hungry and half asleep...it's easier to already be staying at BC. Second, I just prefer the theming at BC. But both are really great resorts. I love the fact that Epcot is within walking distance. Now that I've stayed at both, I just stay at whichever one has the AP discount. I've found that often YC will offer one and BC won't so...YC here I come!!

i have stayed at both the beach club and the yacht club, and my favorite is the yacht. i like it because it seems a little nicer than the beach club, and i like the room decor better. you would be happy at either one because there isnt really a huge difference in them.

I have stayed at both several times.

Yacht Club is more formal and therefore attracts more adults and more grown up kids.

Beach Club, which just underwent refurbishment, is a lot more kid-friendly and therefore has a ton of families with young children. These kids run amok through the hallways and common places. Additionally, the Resort is much more Disney--the carpets have Little Mermaid characters in them and the colors went from soft soothing beach tones to bright, lod, and garish. Did I mention the screaming kids with parents who didn't parent, lol??

Yacht Club is much more our preference b/c of the more adult, relaxed feel. If you are traveling with youngsters, stay on the Beach Club side (more activities and child centered), but if you are all adults, stay on the quiter Yacht Club side.

We stayed at BCV in 04, it was nice they use the same lobby just different desks. Otherwise just about everything is the same for the both of them, just how they are set up. Still have to walk to EPCOT, and hop the boat to DHS, which I found to be a bother because no buses because of where they are located to those parks, walking to EPCOT is less than 10 minutes, but if you want to get to future world you have to walk thru world showcase. But for DHS, you have to take the boat, the walk is at least 25 minutes, 1/4 mile away, we walked it one night and at the end of the day it was a bad decision, interesting walk but too far when your tired.

Thanks everyone. We are booked into the Yacht and are really looking forward to it. We stayed at Poly last year & loved the monorail and proximity to MK.

We have never spent too much time at Epcot so we finally will be able to.

How many more sleeps until April? :)
