Yacht Club Question

Good Morning everyone........We have a quick weekend planned at the Yacht Club and I was wondering about the bed situation for the rooms. It will be myself, hubby, 14 year old son and 10 year old daughter. My son and daughter prefer seperate beds so I was wondering if the rooms are large enough to bring a twin size air mattress or could we request a room with either a sleeper sofa or trundle bed????? Also this will be our first trip to this resort so any helpful hints would a much appreciated.

Just make sure you call up and request a room with a daybed. A majority of the rooms have daybeds. Also, request a daybed room when you check in. That should be an easy request to fill.

If you can't get a room that you want to request, you should be able to get a twin sized air mattress in there. We have put one in at the Mod and Value resorts without problem, though the space does become an issue at the Value resorts.

I would take some time to enjoy the pool at the Yacht Club! The pool makes this place honestly! It's probably the best resort pool I've ever seen.

Also take advantage of walking to Epcot and the Boardwalk area!

Thank you both very much and I LOVE the pics!!!! We plan on enjoying Epcot and the Studios the weekend we are there so being able to walk to the parks is one reason (probably main reason) we picked this resort. We have stayed in the Beach Club Villas before and loved the location for the same reason!!!

Hi there!

I just got back a month ago! Loved the Yacht Club!! If you search in trip reports or look at my threads, I have trip reports from this trip - with room pics and info on the yacht club. We were bumped up to concierge level so I am not sure about the other rooms. But we had a king bed and yes, there was enough room to add the air mattress. Spend a day at the resort if you can b/c the pool area is amazing!!!! Also, Cape May was great - we did that on the morning we spent the day at the resort. It was a great breakfast - characters very interactive! The boat and path to Epcot was SO convenient and boat to DHS was too. We never wandered the path to the Boardwalk but it is right there. Buses were great - never had a problem getting to MK and AK. Have a great trip!!! :wave:

I don't mind a 15-20 minutes but if it stops and other delux resorts would we be better off driving ourselves? Also, how far from Stormalong Bay is the closest snack/ drink area? Can you use the refill mugs there?

The buses at the Yacht Club are all shared by the Swan, Dolphin, Yacht, Beach and Boardwalk. But typically the buses stop in that order, so you'll only have two stops before heading off to the park, and two stops before yours when you're coming back.
You could drive yourself to AK, but I'd suggest taking the bus to the MK. The bus brings you right to the front of the MK, whereas driving you'd have to park, take the tram, then the monorail or ferry before you got to the park.

As for snacks at the pool, Hurricane Hanna's is located right at Stormalong Bay. It's both the pool bar and a food counter. It doesn't have a large selection, but you can get a burger, veggie wrap, turkey sandwich and chicken nuggets. Refillable mugs can be used there, as well as Beaches & Cream, which is near the pool, too.

In the morning and again during the evenings and nights, Yacht and Beach generally use their own busses to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. During the slower afternoon times, the busses share with all Deluxe Epcot Resorts. But generally in the mornings and again at night, Yacht/Beach Club is on its own route.

Thanks for the info. I was most concerned about the Magic Kingdom. We like to get up and get there before the park opens, then go back to the resort mid day for a swim or break. I think we will be happy to let WDW do the driving for us!

We're considering staying at either the Yacht Club or Beach Club next January. We have always just booked a standard room because of the price. What kind of view can we expect? Do all rooms have a balcony? Thanks!

You will get a room that might be overlooking gardens, grass area, or parking lot. My standard view room last year had me looking over grass (and a gross looking channel for the lake) and right at the Dolphin. All rooms at the resort have a balcony.
