Xtra tipping on the dining plan

From speaking with hundreds of Guests returning to WDW and wanting to use the Dining Plan again, I can assure you the in the vast majority, Guest feel they have received excellent service while on the plan.

The waiters are receiving an 18% gratuity based on the total cost of your plan meal. The better they treat you, the more they suggest things on the menu to order, the larger their tip. This is a win / win situation for everyone.

Please note, if you decide to order items not included on the plan, (alcohol, side items, etc.) these items are not calculated in the gratuity as they are billed separately. Please feel free to tip accordingly.

I didn't find any problems with service while on DDP. I did make a point of adding extra for exemplary service, but didn't even hint it was a possibility. If people regularly add a bit when it's warranted, maybe the "problems" will go away.

But then there was the time my wife and I were eating at California Grill. It was our 4th anniv. and they new this with the glasses of champange. Our waiter started out nice and then when he found out we were on the dining plan, he got disinterested. We actually got the manager over to our table after our order was all messed up. The manager got us a different waiter and everything improved. We actually tipped the manager for his good service.
