So the rumors looming around, are that there is a WWoHP phase 2 in plans for the Universal Studios Orlando side of Universal, possibly Diagon Alley and goodbye to Jaws Ride, is there any validity to this rumor?

I've heard it mentioned here by an "insider," but I personally don't place much stock in Potter going to the Studios side. I would expect Diagon Alley and any additional Potter addition to occupy most of what remains of Lost Continent. I'm not sure if they would do away with Mythos, and to a lesser extent, Poseidon, but the Sinbad area is as good as gone in the near future. Also, Jaws is a staple attraction at the Studios. That would be a bit like removing...Space Mountain or Spaceship Earth. It is not quite a physical icon, but it is the attraction that everyone associates with Studios, and is pretty much the only remaining classic, untouched attraction from when the park opened.

I don't know how they would keep Mythos and/or Poseidon, but I'm not ready to place those two (especially Mythos) on the chopping block. Is there another food location in the Potter series that everyone would immediately identify? I can't think of one.

Yes, the insider on this site is where Im basing this rumor on, he also mentioned a reincarnation of Back to the Future which I hope is true,

I just want to know if Despicable Me will be ready by June when I visit

Why on earth would they split Potter among the two properties? Makes no sense thematically...

Anyway, Leaky Cauldron sounds like the next logical choice for an eatery, although I wonder how they could differentiate it from the Three Broomsticks. Makes sense, too, as the Leaky Cauldron was the gateway to Diagon Alley, wasn't it? (Then again, Ollivander's was in Diagon Alley, not Hogsmeade, in the books...so I'm not sure it pays to get TOO nerdy about it.)

The Leaky Cauldron.

That's right! I knew I was over-looking something. Yeah, definitely not a Potter nerd.

Diagon Alley and some "real world" London would make sense for a Phase II expansion, and if that's the case, would make sense to completely overtake all that remains of Lost Continent.

It is highly unlikely, but I could understand if they did do it as then you would get more people into Universal instead of a lot of people just going to IOA to see Potter, in the process selling a lot more two park tickets.

I think thats the Main reason all the upcoming changes like Despicable Me, Transformers Ride, and King Kong 360 will all happen before they touch IoA any further

Man, would nothing be sacred anymore? Jaws is a classic and by my count is the only one still there from near the beginning other than ET and Lucy. I don't know about the rest of you, but I found Universal has more space then they let on. They should be able to utilize their space a bit better

Yeah that would be like having a Nemo attraction at Animal Kingdom and another Nemo attraction at Epcot. :lookaroun

Seriously, it would certainly be an effective way to ensure huge attendance at both properties.

Who said Transformers or King Kong 360 is coming? I know that's been a fanbased rumor...but haven't heard anything solid.

I meant just speculation sorry, But because they are coming out in Universal Hollywood there is a more than good chance we will see those attractions at Universal Orlando

That generally seems to make sense, except that when it has come to cloning attractions, they generally open at the same time or slightly after each other at the parks. If any of those attractions are planned for USO, they should be on the drawing board for sometime within the next year or so...otherwise I really don't see them happening.

As it stands right now...yes, Jimmy Neutron was at it's time to be replaced, but if Despicable Me is the same ride system, it's not going to be worth all the hype. Studios needs a few more new big rides badly(expansions - not re-dos) to keep it from losing attendance to Islands.

Found this on another site.

Something big is already happening.

I forgot about Despicable Me...the ride AND the movie. Still unsure about the staying power of that one.

The movie made a ton of money and is getting a sequel. I don't think they have to worry about staying power.

Sorry to be a D-ick but Jaws hasn't been there since the park opened...

if Jaws had remained untouched since the park opened we all would have sunk in the boats by now!

I agree but since Rip Ride Rockit tore the theming apart you never know...

Before you call out someone, better check your facts. Jaws was indeed one of the original rides that opened with Universal.

That kinda makes you a DoubleD-ick!! :p
