WS restaurant name changes

The WS at Epcot will be changing some of the names of their restaurants soon. Some names have been released & will be changed between Fall 2007 & Fall 2008. Italy's restaurant called Tutto Italia will be undergoing extensive refurbishment starting this Fall. Two restaurants in Japan will also undergo name changes. The new names will be Teppan Edo & Tokyo Dining. They are expected to open in early Oct. 2007.

Wow. I wonder why they are changing, and whether the changes are initiated by the host country or by Disney.

good question, i was thinking a similar thing, i assume you can make adr's for them now...

Japan's old three restaurants have been 100% gutted and being rebuilt into 2 locations: Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining. Teppan Edo will be the primary location with the "cook at your table" set up. If you have resrvations at any of the old restaurants - they no longer exist. You better call Disney Dining and find out what is happening.

This may be just a rumor, but I would call WDW just to make sure that the restaurant will be open at that time.
It probably will be being that they made the reservation for you.

I just called Disney Dining as I had an ADR for Teppanyaki in September and according to the CM, she said my reservation was still intact just switched over to Teppan Edo (or whatever the new name is)....so it looks like they are automatically switching over. However it never hurts to double check (just for the piece of mind).

Anyone know where the Sushi is moving? Not the fast food stuff, but the nice Sushi bar that was upstairs? I hope they do something special with it.

hmm yeahhh
the world showcase did have alot of refurbishment for the last year or so, like italy, japan, mexico.

but change is always good
