Hello,

My husband accidentally bought the tickets for WDW instead of Disneyland, I've been trying to contact Disney by phone but no luck so far :( has anyone had a similar situation? do you know if I can use those tickets for Disneyland instead of Disney World?

Please help, I'm desperate!

Where did he buy them from? I always get them from Undercover tourist and they are fully refundable so you might not be out of luck. Barring that, and I know this will suck...but I don't think the tickets ever expire so you could just plan a trip to wdw....later?

New date based tickets supposedly expire 2 to 4 days after starting date depending on the number of days. However I have heard disney will credit expired tickets towards the price of current tickets.

This is true, though annoying. My family had a big trip planned for July 2020. My sister has tickets that have expired. Disney has told her that the amount she paid is available for her to use to buy a new ticket for a future trip. BUT, she has to use the whole value at once, AND she has to call to do it. Those both kind of suck. We had a short trip in February and she bought new tickets since she wouldn’t use the whole amount for the February tickets. We joke that Disney is borrowing her money.

Ask the Heck family of Orson, Indiana:

Although they had the opposite problem.

Great post. Thanks, I enjoyed it. 🤣 I'm gonna hafta find that whole episode. Middle is a good show, but I've not seen all episodes.

So, your response is "yes", after some work WDW tickets can be used at DL? 🤣 My guess is that in today's Disney, Sam wouldn't allow it when you're on-site, given park reservations and sh-stuff.

I can kind of understand the logic behind that but it sounds like after going through policy and procedure its become to regimented.
They dont want you somehow getting old old tickets and getting in, or buying tickets early before a price increase and using them years later. Although I disagree and a ticket should be good forever (if inflation is why tickets go up it should be equal ;) ).
But they are giving you the money you spent towards another ticket i think is as fair as can be expected from disney. The hoops that they put in to make that transaction though is like many things Disney has done lately and put all the time commitment and burden on the customer, when in business you are supposed to put the customer first and make it as easy and pleasant as possible. This is one of the oversights disney really needs to do better at.

Most of that episode was clearly filmed on California backlots, so I thought by the time they get to "Disney World", it would be just some generic set with a Disney sign. But then when they finally arrive, you see the monorail, the Main Street Train Station, Seven Seas Lagoon- wow, they actually filmed it at the Magic Kingdom!

This can't be the first time this happened. Regular folks (non Disney parks fans) commonly mix up WDW and DLR. I suspect there is something that can be done. But you will need to get on the phone and be prepared to wait a long time.

Honestly it wouldn’t be too bad if the phone wait times were anywhere near reasonable. We’re planning a June 2023 trip to use up her disney money. Who am I to say no?
