Gulf is an 1.5 hrs away; Atlantic is 1.5 hrs away. There is not too much else in the middle of the State BUT Disney World...and swamp...and cows in swamps (no really!). Ocala National Forest is cool and you can go to Legoland, but at that point you're already so far you may as well just go to the beach.
My point is unless I had to work in Orlando, there is no reason to live near Orlando. Florida is a very unique state and there's a reason most of the population is on the coast on dredged swamp land as opposed to living in the middle on Disney's dredged swamp, surrounded by even more swamps. The magic would disappear pretty quickly come the first hard rain and/or the first time you decide to do something that doesn't involve the immediate theme park industry.
