Maybe expand it to go around Swiss Family Treehouse. Add additional animal sections. Clean up some animitronics. I don't mean eliminate any but freshen up some of them to a more realistic feel. I'm looking at you tigers in the cave. But do not change the backside of water. Come to think of it why isn't there a t-shirt for the backside of water? Hmmmmm...

I like it how it is for the most part. I think they need to update the speakers though since if you're in the back it can be hard to hear the skipper. Also, maybe add a few new jokes but other than that I like it how it is.

I would like to see it get an upgrade. Better sound system on the boats as well as updated AA's. With the technology they have today for AA's (think Ursula in LM ride) I think they could do some awesome stuff with the animals. Sadly, that would require spending actual money and we all know how TDO is when it comes to that...

It depends on how they do it. If it's like the refurb they did on Dreamfinder to turn it into what it is now...then no thank you! If its like what they did with Star Tours, a refurb that improves the ride, im all for it!

Upgrade the PA system so it doesn't sound like the old Burger King talking into the mic ordering system at the counter...

Didn't read through all the comments, but.... This. It sounded awful and was really showing its age when I was there in may. It could use a face lift and a better sound system, lol

I know I will be hated by the Disney purists, but it would not offend me in the least if they took it out of MK. I think it's fun but it's so outdated. I could see a revamped Jungle Cruise ride being put in Animal Kingdom with some actual animals or very life-like AA's. How about a mythical Jungle Cruise with animals that exist in myths and folklores? It just seems to have such a better fit in AK then in MK. Not to mention it has such a huge footprint in the MK that could always use the space for different ideas. Just my opinion...

Other than technical details (the aforementioned speakers and PA system), keep the ride as is.

Also, let the cast members play around with the narration a bit and ad-lib whenever possible. When they are all saddled with going by the official memorized script, the whole experience becomes dull and lifeless. (see: Great Movie Ride. Our drivers for that were more bland than five day old oatmeal)

Agreed. In some cases, better casting for skippers would be a huge plus.
A couple of years ago, our skipper was a sweet old lady who seemed to love her job but her delivery was like hearing a bedtime story from grandma. Instead of enjoying the ride, I felt bad for her because she didn't get a laugh from anyone on the boat.

I say rip it all out. In all my 15 Disney trips I've only been on it twice and certainly would not go on it. It is quite possibly the worst ride in all Disney. There is really nothing good about it and I'd love to see something else there instead.

I like the actual ride part but I hate the corny jokes :(

If they would demolish Jungle Cruise and make a new one in Animal Kingdom without the corny jokes and build a new E-ticket called Fire Mountain in Adventureland in its place, I'd be happy. :geek:

Fire Mountain involves going through a volcano, FYI.

I would be ok with updates to the scenery and technology if they kept the general set-up of the skipper and cheesy jokes (a good skipper makes all the difference on JC).

If they ever do that rumored JC movie with Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, maybe there could be some inspiration for updates from it that could work (without ruining the ride hopefully).

The Jungle Cruise has been more than a little outdated ever since Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom opened.
With that ride, there's not really much of a reason for anything in the Jungle Cruise to be played straight, so all the gags and scenes really ought to be over-the-top, either humorously or exaggerated and action-filled.
I'd love to see more done with in-water effects too, like the jumping piranha at Disneyland. One idea I had was to use the bubble-projection technology used for the mermaids at Pirates to make it seem as if giant pythons or anacondas are swimming alongside the boat in the temple area.

Classic attraction or no, it really wouldn't break my heart if they took the whole thing out to do something more interesting with the real estate, like a proper Indiana Jones ride, Fire Mountain, or maybe a Temple of Peril type attraction.

Heck, with all that land you could even finally build a proper Agrabah mini-land with a Cave of Wonders type attraction or something else.

Or how's this for a crazy idea: Use half the land for Indiana Jones and the other half to expand Pirates of the Caribbean to its proper Disneyland-size scale.

YES! I hated "New Management" especially since I am one of the few that LOVE Tiki Room. My daughter and I went on like 3x last time we were there haha I have a Tiki buddy =)

Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room is my FAVORITE show at Magic Kingdom! And Carousel of Progress. When it was "Under New (Awful) Management", it was annoying, cringe-worthy garbage with no real meaning. The lines were cut, the show was shorter, there was no luau scene, no Folies Berger, etc. I'm SO GLAD it has been restored!

I dont think they would make another foolish decision to mess with Walt's original attractions again. Much like the Enchanted Tiki Room, which is now, thankfully, restored.

They're never going to get rid of Jungle Cruise. Despite it's technical issues/corniness, many guests love this attraction including myself and I love it just the way it is. It's one of those attractions that, thankfully, is untouched or influenced by corny franchises, ludicrous guest demands, etc.
