Would this be allowed?

First, let me say that this thread is totally theoretical. I have no plans to do this whatsoever, but it was something that came up and got me curious.

I recently found out about a travel agency based out of Japan that does tours for stuffed animals. People can actually send their stuffed animals to this place in Japan and (for a fee) they will take your stuffed animal around to do different tours and activities around Tokyo and Japan and send them back with lots of photos of the stuffed critters as they tour Japan, all of which is pretty darn cute.

What if someone wanted to start a business doing the same thing...but the business involved offering tours taking the stuffed animals to WDW and getting photos of stuffed animals going around the parks and doing activities and riding on attractions and eating in the restaurants and such? What would WDW's policy on doing 'business' inside the parks like this be?

I'm thinking there might not be a problem at first, but that if the person did this as a business and showed up to the parks regularly taking photos with stuffed animals on a frequent basis, that eventually WDW people are going to wonder what it's about.

So, would running a business where someone would take stuffed animals into the parks as paid 'tours' to take photos of them and such to send back to their owners be allowed by WDW or not? And are there other people out there who actually have some kind of personal business that 'uses' WDW property for their business but yet is not affiliated to WDW?

one word: photoshop

That's always possible, but as far as the place in Japan doing this...it is the real deal. There are also videos they do as well and it looks pretty legit. They regularly update their FB page with photos of stuffed critters going all kinds of places.

And just to clarify, the place in Japan offering tours does not do Disneyland Tokyo tours...just of public places around the city and such.

About 10-15 years ago in the town I live in, a lawn ornament in the shape of a frog went missing from this guy's yard. He had tons of different ornaments all over his lawn...I'm actually surprised some jerky teenagers never did anything to them.....but anyway, this frog went missing.

A little time goes by, and this guy starts getting photos sent to his house showing pictures of the frog in front of famous landmarks all over the place, even Europe, I believe. He keeps getting these photos sent to him, so someone decides to get a news station involved in the search for this frog. The guy even gets on (I wanna say) the Rosie O'Donnell show.

Eventually, the frog was returned, and it turned out to be a family friend or relative of his. Would've been hilarious if they started asking for ransom money.

There were a couple of trips to WDW years ago that my DW could not take due to medical issues, so I went solo or with my DS. So I took her stuffed Jiminy along and we came back with loads of pics with Jiminy in ride queues, in ride seats, at restaurant tables, with CM's & characters and various places throughout the parks. It was fun to do and she appreciated the effort on my part to think of her back home as I enjoyed the parks.
Now would I pay for a TA to take a stuffed character on a trip for me.... I'm not that crazy yet. Sounds like somebody's come up with a unique way to get gullible people to let go of their cash.

I know of a certain travel agency that runs a certain other large forum that will make a paper cut out of you ( a flattie) and take it to the parks, or on a cruise, or pretty much anywhere you want, and do pics and such, with your money going to a charity that they support...

I read somewhere that Americans spend 4 billion dollars a year on clothes for their dogs. If this is the case, it wouldn't be surprising if there are enough nutty people out there willing to pay to send their stuffed animals on a trip. Think of the bragging rights!

I have a couple of Disney bears that want to go. Unfortunately, for them, they would have to make their own arrangements and pay their own way.

I cannot see why Disney would have a problem with this. They don't allow people to act as tour guides, which is understandable since they offer that service. It really is just someone bringing in a stuffed animal and taking pictures. Something that a log of people already do. They might have a problem with it if they started offering the same service, but I cannot see them ever doing it. Would be a good way for a local Disney lover to make some extra money!

If someone wants to pay me to do this I would be more than happy to. Seriously, I can go any night of the week and spend weekends in WDW.

Sigh... next thing you know they'll have doll-sized magic bands.

*Actually, the current bands might work for a cabbage patch doll! Just peel the middle apart from the gray trim, and viola!*

On our last trip we purchased a Duffy for my nephew (who wasnt with us) and took pictures of him riding each ride. Had a blast doing it, partly because I was able to pose him and make him do things a 7yr old would find amusing. However, I would never pay to send my favorite stuffy on his own tour of the parks:confused:

I took one to Disney one year with the plans of taking his picture all over the parks. I felt like an idiot though so he stayed in the backpack with the exception of 2 pictures. Man I am nerdy.
