Would I be eligible for a GAC?

First of all Hello  New to the forum first post!

Now to the question :)

First time trip to Orlando In October!:sohappy:

I have a heart condition and I recently found out I can go on coasters :D

I have fluid in my stomach, this puts a lot of weight onto my feet and makes prolonged standing a pain. I also take diuretic tablets, in non medical terms tablets that make you wee (ALOT!) Because of the medication I need to go to the toilet every 25/30mins.

Thanks in advance!

It doesn't hurt to ask but for something like that, I would advise you get a letter from your doc giving a broad explanation of your circumstance cause you going to the counter saying you need a GAC cause you ______ alot may not get some sympathy or understanding. Honestly, I deal with ALOT of excess fluid and am on daily diuretics and getting my kidneys checked. I don't use a GAC. For our trips, I take mine at night. I'm up 8 times a night to ______ but I am not in and out of the bathrooms all day. Just a thought.

OK. so the word p e e gets censored?!

Actually, it is entirely your decision whether or not you need a GAC. You do not need to provide a note from your doctor nor do you need to “prove” your disability. You do not need to reveal your disability either. Just explain that your medical condition prohibits you from standing in a queue and that you need a GAC that will allow you to go to the front of the line. Guest Services will issue the appropriate GAC for you and your immediate party.

Thanks for the info WDWfqntflyer and Clever Name. I will probably take a doctors note just in case.
I take my diuretics first thing on a morning at around 8am and then i take another dose at 4pm. I'm taking 60mg Furosemide twice a day and 25mg Spironalactone twice a day. So I go to the toilet frequently. I also have spider veins in my legs due to my heart condition and they cause discomfort when standing.

P.s: I also put P E E but i had to change it lol.

You do not need to provide a note from your doctor nor do you need to “prove” your disability. You do not need to reveal your disability either.

Employees at all theme parks are highly discouraged from making inquiries into the nature or specifics of guest disabilities. Such a dialogue would only arise with respect to safety.

As the others said you do not need to prove your disability, but when you go to ask for a GAC card you will have to explain your problems so the CM's can mark your card so the CM's in the park know how best to aid you.

PS......The GAC is NOT a go to the head of the line card...........in fact the only ones that get to go to the head of the line are the severely disabilled and the wishs kids.

In addition only 5 of your party can accompany you, the others go on the regular line.

Please check with Disney....You will see these facts there.

I'm 16 and going on a wish trip. My wish was to go to florida theme parks. Didn't know that wish kids get front of the line GAC's. Do they do GAC's for Universal?

If you're going with Make-A-Wish, that's an entirely different question.

They [Make-A-Wish and possibly Disney too] will provide an escort and whatever needs you may have will be appropriately accommodated throughout your visit.

It is up to each person requesting a GAC to advocate for themselves. If your condition requires front of the line access, then it is up to the individual to make that clear at Guest Services. No one but the party requesting the GAC has the details of the medical needs and it would be presumptuous of any CM to make such a decision.
