Would Disney ever put a ride at a resort?

What about adding an attraction to the Disney properties away from WDW and DL like Vero Beach? Many years ago, a Disney Store was announced for Times Square. It was to go into a huge space. Before it was announced that the space would be sub-divided and Disney would only have a part of it, I though it would be great to include a ride in the building. I'd pay to ride Pirates of the Caribbean right in Time Square whenever I wanted!

Again, return investment issues. Do you know what property values are at the dead center of Times Square where the store is currently located? Also, that area isn't zoned to house an attraction of that magnitude.

No, the queue goes thru the lagoon straight to the Poly. Indiana Jones at Disneyland does it, a 1 mile queue to get to the ride building.

First, the queue for Indy is in no way a mile long. What you propose to the Poly is MUCH farther (further?). A more important factor is why? What possible advantage would Disney have for doing this? A ride outside the berm on the Adventureland side? Maybe. A queue all the way to the Poly? Sorry, but this is ridiculous.

Yes it is ridiculous, I was just trying to be funny.

Soarin' queue at WDW (queue entrance to theater door) is 1/4 mile. Multiply that x 4 (Standby, Fast Pass, Exit and old Single Rider) and it becomes a mile. Just for fun :)

If (and that's a big if) Disney wanted more people at their water parks, I could sort of see them adding a lightly themed Moana water ride to Typhoon Lagoon. Make it longer than the latest family raft ride, throw in a couple of AAs (Pua, Hei Hei, the weird coconut things), play the soundtrack, and then advertise it as a Moana themed water ride.

Both water parks need more raft rides (and slides), though Blizzard Beach should be the next one to get something new.

In a way some resorts do or did have their own attractions connected to their property though not always open to the public unless for an added fee. (Yes some of these could just be considered an extra incentive activity to help sway a guest in choosing a particular resort)

Animal Kingdom Lodge - Savannah
Beach and Yacht Club - Stormalong Bay (basically a mini water park though only open to resort guests)
Boardwalk - The Boardwalk with its activities, clubs and performers
Contemporary - Bay Lake with the water activities available
Dolphin & Swan Resorts - Swan Paddle Boats
Polynesian - Spirit of Aloha Luau
Fort Wilderness - Discovery Island (Closed), Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue, Horse Back Rides, River Country (Closed)

Hmmmmm....So, we could turn the who board walk area into a fifth park, and go Disney Florida Adventure park. As a mater of fact, get coaster, and wheel. Hey, build a GotG just for that land too. Wow. Problem solved. Hey Light Bulb....Add a new expedition Everest in Epcott, and make the changes need for a proper working Yeti. In lew of a salerly, I'll just live in the Disney Bubble fully comped and after my death add me to the HM.

The answer would be no. The reason is the ride would have to be open to anyone with a park ticket. Imagine a resort getting slammed with 5,000 people trying to get to a ride. As an example, the Poly already has 2 rides...monorail and boat.

I do see WDW making a change in the coming years as they continue to expand the resort capacity. Instead of EMH, they are going to have resort opening and closing time vs offsite opening and closing. Something on the lines that offsite guests cannot enter a park until 10AM and closes at 7PM for offsite. They are quickly learning that building up is far better than building out. They will start to DVC the moderate resorts for even more money.

I would swear I have seen art with an actual wood roller coaster at the Boardwalk. Eisner seemed to be obsessed with building a wood coaster in the 90s.
