Would a Universal cruise be successful?

I'm surprised they haven't tried yet. A lot of their IPs (Harry Potter, Jurassic Park/World, Dreamworks, etc.) could be really fun at sea.

Dreamworks and RCL partnered for a while...went on one back in 2011.

Historically they haven't been in the accommodation business, they chose to outsource it to companies that specialized in it.

I would assume designed and themed by Loews but I'm not certain if they're also responsible for the recently added charachter rooms and suites.

Yes, Universal designs and builds and Lowes operates. Works really well

I think it would be hard to do well though, they can’t do face characters of the main characters, so the meet and great type thing is limited. You’d need to do the same as in the theme park and recreate dining venues like the pubs and the great hall but I don’t see what you’d do special for a cruise compared to what they already offer in the theme parks particularly.
