Worst Queue Experience

Does the cram as many people that will fit in the Hyperion on concrete in the sun just outside the doors count as a queue? Because standing in that like sardines was pretty horrible.

In NC the damn place shuts down with any amount of frozen stuff, be it rain (good idea) or a light dusting of snow (really not necessary). I've seen the schools shut down for a week because of a 1 inch snowfall. Back in Vermont the school bus had to have slid off the road into a ditch and land on it's side before you could even be late for classes without getting an attached detention. But, we were old school.

For Snowpocolypse 2010 I was up at Ft. Dix in New Jersey and we received 4-ish feet of snow. Being from California I was super excited because I thought I was going to experience my first ever snow day! But no such luck; they made us go to work anyway even though we had to walk through a blizzard to the office. The rest of our company was at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina and they got a light dusting of around a half inch of snow and were able to take the day off because the city shut down completely

This isn't a queue story but I go to Disney World every February and if you wait till after the fireworks to leave the Magic Kingdom. You will encounter hordes of chanting Brazilians (I made the mistake of staying at the pop century) so I had to stand trapt between groups. They had connected all of their blue tooth speakers together so there's a big chain of chanting and annoying Brazilian rap? For around 40 minutes. After 5 busses came and went the 6th bus was pretty much full but they let us cram in and we thought we were safe until 2 groups began to sing let it go in Portuguese. I could tell from the tempo longest bus ride of my life. The whole time this poor reserve the Japanese couple in front of us look mortified. Never been so happy to get off a bus.

Why do you think so many northerners are moving to NC? The Chamber of Commerce motto is... "We shut down for nothing more then cool breezes from the north". "A perfect place to come for unexpected relaxation."

I'm still trying to figure out what BLRS stands for.
For some reason I just always referred to that ride as Buzz Lightyear Ranger Spin...I forgot Space....SPACE!

On my last trip in 2011 I was waiting to see Rapunzel and Flynn at the Garden. The family in front of me was very nice and we were chatting, but the mom behind me was getting agitated that the line was moving so slowly. When I finally got to Rapunzel, she and Flynn signed my sketchbook, then proceeded to go through and look at all my drawings. I could hear this mother behind me getting all worked up because "She's an adult, she's taking too much time away from my daughter. She's been waiting!" The CM said something to her and I was about to cry. I looked at Rapunzel and told her and the CM that I never got to go to WDW as a kid. My first trip was in 2007 when I was already in my 20's. The CM gave me a free FP for Splash Mountain and asked me to come back after the line was done. Then I got to escort Rapunzel to the CM entrance. :)

Disney is for all ages and it hurt my heart to hear someone be that way when we all paid, and waited, and the characters take the same amount of time with everyone.

Sorry that lady said what she did but so awesome for the outcome! Yes, Disney is for everyone, young or old. Besides, older people are just kids trying to be better kids.

Only bad ride queue I've had experienced was last year at Kings Island. We go once a year and surprisingly DD8 measured tall enough to ride Vortex a looping coaster shes has begged to go on for 4 years. I decided let's celebrate and this 1 trip get the Fastpass bands to skip the line, and let her have fun. So we get on and ride with no wait. The second time around she wanted to ride in the back. So she get in our seats and hear a womab say "another f*** spoiled brat with a b mother skipping lines". If it wasn't for the restraints latched I would have come out of the seat and told her off. We spent years standing patiently in standby for lines, DD never cared cause she just jabbered with other kids. But for once say lets skip it and both my kid and myself get called names? Oh I'm sorry guest that season pass which means you visit how many times entitles you to be mad.

Having lived in Cincinnati for many years, your experience was sadly becoming more-and-more common by the time of my last visit in 2011. KI used to be a great place.

as horrible as your experience was, i can't help but think of that pie eating scene from stand by me
My friend she, her husband and 3 kids live in So.Cal. so they go to DLR all the time. Even today she has told me that when she gets to that portion of the que, she has her husband and kids help her keep distracted. She finds her self reliving the event and starts to dry heave a little.

To add to this, Simpsons continues this painful might I say worst queue experience ever once you reach the final outdoor chokepoint. When the sun is out, you could cook eggs using nothing but sunlight as you wait. It also offers the worst express experience, since you don't bypass it. Often the express and standby wait times are within a couple of minutes of each other.
It sounds like Universal hasn't fully understood the whole "inside/covered queue in Florida" concept. Are there more attractions at Uni that have part or all of the queue outdoors, or just the one you mentioned? I couldn't imagine having to stand in the midday sun at WDW or Uni in the summer for longer than a few minutes-that's heat stroke territory.

They could certainly do more with Simpsons, but that's really the only queue I can think of that is like that.

It's funny because northerners that move to our area always complain about us locals not knowing how to drive especially in the snow. But a lot of the ones I know that slide off the road or get into fender benders in a few inches of snow are those new to the area and are from up north LOL. They think they can drive the same way at the same speed as they did back home until they learn the roads and the way our DOT responds are completely different. They are even extremely picky on what type of tire cleats can be used on the snow packed roads. But what I think is completely hilarious is that when I was in school, the snow would already be sticking to the roads but we would still have to go to school, wait in home room for a bit before they cancelled so we wouldn't have to make up that snow day. Now the schools close at just the threat of snow
