World Showcase Renovations?

Can anyone who has been down to Epcot lately tell me if they're about finished with some of the World Showcase rehabs? Namely Italy and Canada. I think they've been working on them since late April if I'm not mistaken and were not done this past July. I know that Norway also has extensive work being done and is not likely to finish until Malestrom re-opens and in July, a small part of China was being worked on. Can anyone offer some updates? Thanks!

Meega, nala kwishta!
We were down Oct 8-15. Maelstorm was down, Italy was having a big renovation on the tower, Canada's castle was being renovated. Japan's store is going through renovations too. This was a pain for us 'cos we love shoping there and the stor is like spread out all over the Japan area now.

We did the Hidden treasures tour, and the guide gave us the impression that Italy would be being worked on for a while.

Strange too. We went to WDW 6 years ago, last year, and this year. Italy has had renovation each year we were there. Someday we'll see it done. :D

Italy's in rehab and Canada didn't look like it was anymore. Thec Maelstrom is open and I think they're done with Norway, too. I went Oct. 17.

I got back yesterday and our last day at Epcot was Thurs afternoon. As of then, Canada was still being renovated. Maelstrom is now open but Japan is not yet finished. I think they are still working on Italy as well.

Erika must have just missed ya,

I got back last night too.

Norway has been completed. All walls and everything were taken down. The Maelstrom is up and running again. Didn't notice any difference except there were no waves crashing against the base of the north sea oil platform the three times I rode it. Same old movie too.

The tower in Italy and the buildings in Canada were surrounded by canvas covered scafolding. Didn't see any visible work being done on Japan but I admit I didn't go inside.

The Japan renovations were not as obvious as some of the others. But the store there is usually a lot bigger- now it is squeezed into a fraction of the normal space.

Thanks everyone! WOW! Almost a half year of renovations on the same buildings. Do all the rehabs on the WS buildings ALWAYS take this long. I know it has to be done, and it'll look better when its done- it's just taking a long time! Sheesh! Thanks again!
