World Showcase Park

As we all know, World Showcase is one of the most amazing places in WDW. It almost is a separate park from Future World. When in reality, World Showcase was supposed to be a separate park located just a hop and skip away from the Magic Kingdom. After combining several ideas from fellow Imagineers on this board combined with my own, I created my own version of World Showcase park. As I was creating it, I really had no idea where it could possibly go. Originally it was for my own little resort, non-Disney related. But, HKDL is going to eventually need a sister park. So, I added a few clones/names and bang! HKDL’s second park is World Showcase Park (or if you can help me with a better name).

Listed below are the attractions for each country. What I did for each land is created a major E-Ticket and then added a few smaller attractions. The idea is for World Showcase Park to be an experience, so there are also many authentic restaurants, shops, and short shows. A rough sketch of all the buildings and attractions (which are numbered) will be shown in a little map I created to help out. Some things are also not to scale, but the map gives you an idea or where things are placed and how big it’s going to be. Anyways, here are the list of major attractions. Also, if you can help with better names for attractions, I’d greatly appreciate it. I’m kind of new at this, . Shops and restaurants will possibly come later…

Passport Plaza Attractions: - Setting - An early 20th century city terminal area that is full of “travel agencies” and “ticket booths” and sounds of planes and incoming trains to get you started on your journey around the world.

1. Around the World In 80 Days - Hop aboard your Global Explorers and take flight on a fantastic journey around the world… in only 80 days! (Think Peter Pan’s Flight mixed with TTA; it travels around the park and also through some dark ride scenes)
2. Passport Theater - Take a break in the relaxing and elegant Passport Theater and watch and enchanting musical.

China Attractions: - Setting - An ancient Chinese village that is home to the shrine of the Dragon.

3. Labyrinth of the Dragon - A sacred ritual of worshipping the Dragon goes awry and you are faced in the middle of dodging fireballs and trying to escape the never ending labyrinth all in state of the art 3D technology! (A mixture of a 3D show combined with EMV technology… to be explained later)
4. Reflections of China - The heritage and splendor of China is shown in this marvelous 360 degree theater (similar to WS’s.. except there are rotating seats!!!)

Africa Attractions: - Setting - A small central African village that thrives on its tourism for their famous safaris.

5. Safari Adventure - Explore the savannah on your Land Rovers and marvel at the real life creatures. (Kilomanjaro Safaris with a twist, it ends in a town and speeds through the streets to get to where the poachers are and stop them)
6. CoNgA! Rhythms of Africa - An amazing show full of pyrotechnics, special effects, singing, and of course, African drumming.

England Attractions: - Setting - An English countryside village with a haunted castle looming in the background.

7. Curse of the Darkness - An abandoned castle has mysteriously opened once again. As explorers, you travel inside and come face to face with the mysterious curse that has been haunting this English castle for hundreds of years. What is it? Only the brave find out. (Same technology as Spidey and DarKastle, but different film, themeing, etc.)
8. Big Ben - Explore the museum built in honor of Big Ben and even travel all the way up to the top of the clock tower.
9. Globe Theatre - An exact replica of Shakespeare’s magnificent Globe Theatre that shows dramas and comedies.

Germany Attractions: - Setting - A traditional German village full of back streets and shops.

10. Rhine River Rally - Get in a boat and travel along the Rhine River and get caught up in Hans Christian Andersen’s tales, lost in a forest of werewolves, or floating through a quaint village during Oktoberfest. (Similar to PotC)
11. Himmeleimers - Hop into these sky buckets and enjoy the grand view of Germany and the nearby lagoon. (like Sky buckets at DLP)
12. MotionWorks! - A German car exhibit featuring cars from famous German movies and those made by Volkswagen. Also, get behind the wheel of some of these cars for a simulated high speed journey. (Similar to TT post show)
13. Oktoberfest - A delightful and traditional German buffet mixed with a unforgettable musical about Oktoberfest provides the perfect way to spend your evening.

Italy Attractions: - Setting - An Italian marketplace full of the beautiful architecture Italy is famous for.

14. Journey to Pompeii- While searching through the rubble on this tragic excavation site, you are suddenly transported back in time and face the same tragic event of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius. Will you make it back in time? (EMV adventure)

France Attractions: - Setting - Paris and an abandoned ski village in the French countryside.

15. Eiffel Tower - A stunning 300 foot replica of the famous Eiffel Tower is another way to see the beauty and magnificence of this park from above.
16. The Jules Verne Experience - Take a walk through Jules Verne’s steps when his classic tales come to life in large walk through sets that combine sensory technology with impressive storylines. (Walk-through special effects type show)
17. Mt. Monstre - The endless legends tell of a fearsome beast that lurks within the caverns of Mt. Monstre. Few have survived when searching for this beast. Now, a local company has opened tours to explore this haunted mountain. Do you dare? (Dark ride/coaster combo… like ROTM or E:E)

America Attractions: - Setting - A combination of 17th century New England/Boston and a modern day flight hangar.

18. Flying Over America - Come along for a fantastic journey flying over the land of the free and the home of the brave. Watch out for planes! (Same thing as Soarin’ except different themeing and completely different movie)
19. The U.S.S. Constitution - Set foot on this authentic sea sailing masterpiece. Children can also enjoy the massive play area inside the ship on the lower deck.
20. Golden Dreams - The history of America is put into an unforgettable and moving experience that will tug at your heart. (Like The American Adventure)

International Island: - Setting - Full of lush trees and plants surrounded with three futuristic buildings and Planet Earth.

21. Horizons: A Journey Into the Past, Present, and Future - Come along on a joyous journey exploring the marvels in the past, present, and future worlds. Located inside Planet Earth. (Horizons type ride except the vehicles are more like those on the E.T. Adventure)
22. IllumiNations: A Uniting of Global Dreams - Watch in awe as one of the biggest fireworks displays in the history of the world is set off right in front of your eyes over World Showcase Lagoon. The dreams of the future are presented with an unforgettable musical score that will leave you breathless when this twenty-four minute masterpiece comes to and end. (Think IllumiNations: RoE but bigger, louder, and more moving)

… So there you have it! The first phase of HKDL’s World Showcase Park. And hopefully… here is an idea of the layout… (sorry if it's confusing... let me know if you have questions or need help!!)

Here!

Any comments or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks for reading! :D

Wow, that sounds pretty cool. I do have one suggestion though: don't call your fireworks show UniNations... :p no offense, but that's not a very good name. Otherwise, very good.

Since Hans Christian Andersen was Scandinavian, the Grimm brothers' fairytales are more appropriate, IMO:animwink: .
Also, here are some of my ideas for new pavilions and their attractions:
Israel Attractions:
1. Outdoor Amphitheatre: Listen to live Israeli folk music ranging from Hasidic tunes to modern pop.
2. Negev Land Tours: Learn how Israel irrigates its deserts into blooming forests in this attraction similar to Living With The Land in WDW.
3. Jerusalem! An Adventure: Very similar to the motion simulator in Millennium Village that dealt with the history of Jerusalem.
Spain Attractions:
1. Spain-A Voyage Through A Beautiful Land--Indoor side-friction wooden roller coaster through recreations of the wondrous Spanish landscape, followed by a documentary of Spain's vibrant history and peoples.
2. Theatre Segovia--Learn about Spain's great art and music in exhibits and a 360 degree film.
3. Don Quixote--Modern darkride through the classic story with tribute to the traditional darkrides of older amusement parks near the end.
Scandinavia Attractions:
1. The Homeland--Film highlighting the life and works of famous Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg and his fabulous music, followed by audio-animatronic speaker (Grieg himself, about his art.) Should be inspiring attraction like Great Moments with Mr Lincoln.
2. Stave Church--Modern darkride through an ancient Scandinavian stave church. Much like Haunted Mansion.
3. Spirit of the Norsemen--Water darkride (semi-thrillride) much like Maelstrom followed by film documentary regarding the history and peoples of Scandinavia.

This sounds really good. However, wdwswan&dolphin where do you get that Adam had a wife before Eve? I have read many parts of Genesis and NEVER came across this. If this a relgious view (Jewish possibly?) then I believe it should be left out, we don't want people to feel pressured by certain religions. Sorry...

It says on there that this is a Myth, not fact. Did you just forget to leave that out of your post or did you not notice it? (I'm trying to say this nicely...sorry if it sounds rude) Like I said, Lilith had NEVER been brought to my attention before...I had never heard of her nor seen her in the Bible. I just looked in Genesis also, and I found no Lilith. Eve was the only women there for Adam to marry, therefore he couldn't have had a wife before Eve.

Wannabe Walt, isn't the whole Bible a myth? Not saying that's it's all false, it's just that there's evidence which supports evolution, and evidence which supports creationism. None have been 100% proven.

I really like it, except for one thing: Flyin' Over America... well, I think it belongs more in Passport Plaza. It is, afterall, the entryway to the park, so it should highlight all of the countries you will see in the showcase.

Um...definatly not. The entire Bible is 100% correct. Evolution is the myth. What would you rather trust? Something thats been around literally forever, or something that some man invented because he just didn't want to believe Creationism? I'm going to go with the one thats been around forever.

While Creationism is all a matter of religious belief, it does explain why there is no Unicorns and stuff around, T-Rex ate them while on the Ark :D

Okay, prove it. Give me 100% undeniable fact.

Excuse me, but it seems we're getting off topic here. Back to the original topic, please. ;)
BTW, I'll remove Lilith from the list of attractions for the Israel Pavilion.
