World Population Counter at Epcot

Does anyone else remember a giant wooden clock like structure in one of the areas under Spaceship Earth that showed the population of the earth? I remember that the numbers (counter) was always turning over and increasing, and that it was really long and sort of resembled a car speedometer. I haven't seen it the last 5 or 6 yrs I've been there. I was just wondering if it is still there or if anyone else remembers or has any idea what I'm talking about. :)

You're not going insane...I do remember it...I believe it was in the old Communicore pavilion...but you may be right...it may have been in the Spaceship Earth pavilion. Haven't seen it in YEARS though

Yeah, I was thinking about this a few weeks ago.

There was a little robot on top wasn't there? I think they got rid of it when they closed the Communicore pavilions. :(

Thanks, I'm glad I'm not crazy. I think the last time I may have saw it there was 1993, that may also have been the year they took out communicore.

I think there is something like that at Studio M. I don't know if it is the same as the one in Communicore though.

I miss Communicore, especially after reading all of these posts!

Does anyone remember the show sponsored by Sperry? I also recall some little exercise where if you crank this handle really really fast, it would create energy and the light bulb would light up. Ouch - my wrist would hurt after that!
