World of Color Return?

Unless they're at DCA. I did not see spot them at the DL warehouse recently.

Yeah I believe that’s where they were allegedly spotted back in March. Apparently some CMs had a modified break area in one of the DCA parade building.

...perhaps a new sequence or two reflecting the Disney offerings over the last two years.
This is why I don’t like World of Color: To me, it’s always felt like an ad for Disney Home Video, lacking any of the heart or creativity of Fantasmic. I stand there thinking they should offer guests a 50% admission cash back incentIve for watching this huge advertisement. It all comes down to the decision to create a big robotic clip show devoid of live performances.

I know the show’s popular, but I hope someday they create something with the setup that does more than promote product. Something like a Sherman Brothers tribute with new performances of classic songs, and live performers using the effects as a spectacular backdrop/scene changer. That’s something that’d get me to not only watch, but also buy the soundtrack.

Live Performers would be dripping wet, whatever stage they performed on would be dripping wet and therefore dangerous for the performers (I worked at the Mark Taper Forum on an event show with an elaborate effect to make it rain on stage, with water recaptured under the stage and recycled for use for the next show...SAG raised a bit of hell about it and by the time the show premiered, the costly effect had to be cut completely because the delay prevented any rehearsals with it). At the parks, IP Promotion is all over the place, especially with the daytime parades, nighttime events, night parades, firework and projection shows, Fantasmic included. Audiences not only expect that, they typically enjoy them. World of Color is a spectacular fountain show that makes the Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas look like a lawn sprinkler. I don't hold its ability to cycle new sequences in and out of it as a detriment. Keeps it fresh, like the reworking of the evening fireworks show from time to time. And nobody's going to slip and get hurt (or toasted by the flame eruptions). It's all eye and ear candy.
